How Far is it From Jerusalem To Zion?

Where is Jerusalem? What is Zion? How can the distance to the final redemption be measured? How far away is it? The Torah and Zohar have all the answers.

First, we have to understand what and where is Zion, so let’s turn to Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and the Zohar and the commentary by Rav Yehuda Halevi Ashlag of blessed memory(Hasulam):

32. Acharei Mot : 28. As is done below so is done above
Verse 175. “We have learned that when the Holy One, blessed be He, wanted to create the lower world, He made it all similar to the upper. He made Jerusalem the center of the entire earth, and one place above it called Zion, WHOSE SECRET IS YESOD. It receives blessings from this place. Through this place of Zion, the earth started to be built, and through it the world was built. This is what the verse says, “El Elohim, Hashem, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the going down thereof” (Tehilim 50:1). From which place? “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, Elohim has shown forth” (Ibid. 2), meaning Elohim did appear from Zion, which is the ultimate beauty of the world. Come and see that Jerusalem, WHICH IS MALCHUT, was blessed only from Zion, WHICH IS YESOD, and Zion WAS BLESSED from above, MEANING ZEIR ANPIN. Everything is one, one bonded into one, AS ZEIR ANPIN AND MALCHUT, THE SECRET OF ONE ON ONE, ARE JOINED BY ZION.”

29. Shmini : 2. Zion and Jerusalem
Verse 11. “Rabbi Pinchas opened the discussion with the verse: “Hashem shall bless you out of Zion and you shall see the good of Jerusalem” (Tehilim 128:5). AND HE ASKS: Why “out of Zion”? HE ANSWERS: Because FROM ZION, WHICH IS THE YESOD OF MALCHUT, all blessings come out to all, as it is written: “For there Hashem has commanded the blessings, even eternal life” (Tehilim 133:3). Hence, “Hashem shall bless you out of Zion,” since from there blessings emanate to everything. “And you shall see the good of Jerusalem.” For the sake of Zion, Jerusalem – WHICH IS MALCHUT – is blessed, BECAUSE ZION IS THE YESOD OF MALCHUT and Mercy rests there. When Jerusalem is blessed, all the people are blessed.”

We can understand from these and many other references to Zion in the Zohar that Zion is a spiritual place, a point above the physical Jerusalem, which is manifest in Malchut. In terms of the tree-of-life, Zion is Yesod of Malchut.  There are 10 Major sefirot (dimensions) in the Tree-of-life and each are subdivided into 10 similar ones, thus 10 x 10 sefirot.  The bottom most (the 100th one) is Malchut which just receives from the others and the one on the scale just above it (say the 99th one), is Yesod of Malchut. It is from this point that all the light (energy, life-force) from all the others gets channeled through. This is Zion.

The further removed we are from Zion, the further away we are from purity and from the life-sustaining light. We need to know how far we have to climb for Malchut of Malchut to join with Yesod of Malchut to become one with the Light, with G-d, with the Tree-of-life reality. That answer was given to us by the Torah.

From Jerusalem (M’Yerushalem, MYRVShLYM) To Zion (B‘TzYVN). The prefixes, “From” and “To,” “Mem” and “Bet,” are the designated letters  (MB) that add up to 42, and that the Torah uses to initialize all spiritual journeys, including all 42 times that the Israelites journeyed in their 40-year trek from exile to the Promised Land.

These letters (MB) are also representative of the Shem Mem-Bet, the 42-Letter Name of G-d, that is Zeir Anpin and where we can find Zion hidden in Yesod of Malchut.  If you will, please notice that in the center of the last line of the 42-Letter Name matrix are the letters Vav-Tzadi-Yud, preceded by the letter Koof which is composed of a Caf or Resh and a final (sofit) letter Nun. Thus we have the letters Tzadi-YudVav-Nun sofit which spells TzYVN (ZION).

This is not coincidence; it is a gateway, but being that as it may, how to we go from Jerusalem to Zion, in order to receive all the blessings of the final redemption.

So the question must first be how do we measure spiritual distance? We can’t use a tape measure because there isn’t a rope, not even an invisible one that stretches from one dimension to the next. The only thing that spans that distance is energy, and the only way to measure this energy is with gematria, for in spirituality distance is measured by similarity of form and that is what gematria reads, how similar or dissimilar an objects energy is.

When we add up the gematria value of “From Jerusalem (M’Yerushalim, MYRVShLYM) To Zion (BTzYVN)” we get 2017, or maybe 2018 with the Kolel, given that Abraham’s journey and thus the entire Israelite and monotheistic journey began in 2018 HC at paragraph 42 in the Torah.

So how close are we?

The events predicted by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in the Zohar are being played out including the revelations of kabbalah and the secrets of the Ana B’koach, the 42-Letter Name, the 70 years of Israel being a Nation, the role of the secret Rome, and more…

Well, what else has followed our society’s spiritual journey lately?

The attack in Mombasa on Nov 28th, 2002; the earthquake in Bam, Iran on Dec 26th 2003; the Tsunami (mabul) off the coast of Meulaboh, Indonesia on Dec 26th 2004; the attack on/in Mumbai on Nov 26th 2008;  Bernie Madoff on Dec 11th, 2008; the massive blackbird kill on Jan 1, 2011 (1/1/11) at Beebee, Arkansas; Mubarak’s downfall on Jan 26th, 2011 and ultimate ouster on the hillula of Moshe Rabbeinu, Feb 11th, 2011. Of course, there is President Obama, and now the Muslim Brotherhood.

As for the 11’s, they could relate to the 11 sefirot, etc, but 26 is definitely the numerical value of the Tetragrammaton (YHVH).  And some would say that the ultimate 11 was on 9/11/01 with the attach on the Borough of Manhattan.  In our on-going series on the 10 Commandments, we’ll soon see how this all ties together.

Don’t see the connection? Need a divine oracle? Seeing as this week’s Torah portion was Tetzaveh, how about using the high Priest’s Breastplate and garments, the Choshen and the Urim and Tumim. No, it’s true they are no longer available to us but they did house and rely on the divine power of the Shem Mem-Bet (42-Letter Name) that is still very much available to us. And while the numerical value of Choshen is 358, the same as Moshiach (Messiah), the numerical value (gematria complete sofit) of the Urim and the Tumim (HEVRYM V’HTMYM) with the kolel is 2018 yet again.

Thus even without its presence today, we can understand the chazal’s explanation that the understanding of the Shem Mem-Bet with bring about the geula (final redemption) and Rav Yehuda Ashlag of blessed memory’s explanation that the Moshiach will be manifest in 2018 (5778).

The distance shortens everyday. Are we ready? Remember, 3330 years ago, the distance narrowed to zero, but we weren’t ready. Are we ready today?

Abraham and the Planet Jupiter; Foretelling the Final Redemption.

Abraham’s journey began with the planet Jupiter; so did ours.  Who knew it would take so long? Regarding our last post on Jupiter and the 40 Days and 40 Nights, David wrote into me with a great insight:

How can we connect this to the fact that Avraham’s astrological array was Jupiter and Hashem moved it from east to west so that it doesnt influence Avraham’s ability to have children? seemingly this means that all his descendants are also under Jupiter’s astrological sign and affected by it.

source Shabbos 156B ““Who awakened Jupiter from the east?”

To understand this you must begin with Shabbos 156A, nevertheless, the Gemara connects that moment when G-d had Abraham gaze up into the stars to Abraham’s age (70) at the Covenant of Halves which occurred in 2018 HC, and this is especially noteworthy given that 2018 CE is 5778 HC, which as per the referenced article just published is the date revealed by both Jupiter’s orbit, the Sun’s temperature and the phrase “40 days and 40 nights,” 5-778.

And more so given that the exact Torah phrase used for “70 years (VShBAYM ShN-H)” has the same exact gematria as the “40 days and 40 nights” or “778 plus the final Hey(5) of Malchut” just like Jupiter’s orbit.

The real significance though is that Israel will be 70 years a nation in 5778 (2018 CE), just as Abraham was 70 years old in 2018 HC. And according to Rav Ashlag (HaSulam) the Covenant will then be fulfilled, coinciding with the Zohar that also enlightens us to that 70 year period prior to the final redemption.

One reference to this is found in Zohar Mishpatim (Ra’aya Meheimna-the deepest secrets section)17, 473-475, regarding “the 70 words in the psalm: ‘May Hashem hear you in the day of trouble (Tehilim 20:2), ” Rav Ashlag explains that this alludes to the 70 sounds made by the expectant mother about to give birth, “being also the 70 sounds given out by the Schechinah for the distress of the children of Yisrael prior to redemption-considered ‘a day of trouble’.” The Zohar intimating a conversation between Moses and Elijah, continues, “Why does She cry out? It is known that among Yisrael there are masters of Torah and kings from the aspect of the star of dawn, namely the Shechinah. There are two grads: morning and dawn, about which it is said: ‘at Your right hand are pleasure evermore (Netzach)” [Tehilim 16:11]. The morning of Abraham, Chesed, appears on the Day of Redemption. But the dawn precedes the Day of Redemption, being Netzach, as the Shechinah from this aspect is called ‘the star  of dawn’.”

In the next paragraph, the Zohar continues explaining, “Hence the chief musician [lamenatzeach] is spelled Netzach [forever] and Lamed-Mem [70], which are the 70 sounds that the doe  [star] of dawn cries out for her children when the darkness of exile overcomes them, the darkness of dawn taking place in the last 70 years. At that time will be fulfilled in Yisrael: ‘Like a woman with child, that draws near the time of delivery, is in pain, and cries out in her pangs; so have we been in your sight, Hashem’ [Yeshayah 26:17]…”

“..The morning alludes to the right hand of Abraham, Messiah, Son of David, who stems from Judah [Yehudah] about whom it is written, ‘Judah is a lion’s whelp’ [Bereshit 49:9]. For this reason, ‘as Hashem lives: lie down until the morning’. [Ruth 3:13].

The Zohar, as always is very deep and cryptic though we can’t miss the obvious allusions that the last 70 years will be painful and include all the birth pangs of Moshiach. So it’s interesting that of the 42 times (Yes, 42 as in the 42-Letter Name, the understanding of which chazal will bring about the final redemption) the 778 plus hey (5) phrase is used in the Torah, the first time is in conjunction with 70 years in Genesis 5:31 with Lemekh(LMC)–kabbalistic code for king(melech, MLC)–who lived for 777 years. And notice that Lemekh(LMC) begins with the Lamed-Mem that the Zohar was referring to above.

And it’s even more significant that the next time it was used was in paragraph 42, Genesis 12:4, when Abraham was 70 years and 5, which is what the Gemara was referring to, in 2018 HC.

As my son pointed out to me at breakfast this morning, Jupiter’s days are 10 hrs long, a possible connection to the 10 sefirot of the Tree-of-life.  What the full connection to Jupiter is yet to be seen, but as the 70 supernal ministers are removed above, so are their respective counterparts in the nations below, and so far since the start of this year 1/1/11, Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt have fallen, and Jordan, Yemen and Afghanistan are in the process. The prophecies of the Zohar and tzaddikim are being fulfilled.

When the Torah connects the dots, it does it for a reason, and not an insignificant one.  Over the next few weeks we’ll be unraveling more of these trails.

Power of the Shema, Part III: Bringing Moshiach

The deeper the secrets, the more important they are. The Shema Israel prayer is the most well known and widely recited Jewish prayer, yet most people recite it without a clue to its many secrets and the power that these can unleash.  In this series, we hope to change that and fulfill my teacher’s wishes  that we make them available to everything in order to help bring about the tree-of-life reality, the world beyond illusion.

In Part II we’d like to continuing revealing the secrets about the initial 6 word refrain that begins the prayer.

“Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One” — is perhaps the most famous of all Jewish sayings.

Kol Ysrael (CL YShREL) are the last 2 words of the Torah, CL = 50

The ordinal value of Shema, the first word of the verse, is 50, so teh first 2 words of the verse are also representative of Kol Ysrael (CL YShREL), “All Israel.”

The value 50 is kabbalistic code for the sefira/dimension of Binah, (also know as the 50 gates of Binah). Binah is what we consider as Heaven to our Earth.  Then the 6 dimensions between them, corresponding to the 6 words of the Shema, is the ladder that we climb to reach it.  The technology embedded in these 6 words is designed to elevate our prayers and consciousness to the upper sefirot (dimensions), to Binah.

Now to shift gears a little, please note that Sum of complete value of the 6 words equals 1345, or 1000 (Keter, representing completion and the highest sefira) plus 345, the numerical value of Moses, who drew his energy from Da’at of Imma (Binah), a level none of us can.  Moreover, while he first two words (Shema Israel) represent the Torah’s last two words, the full verse has half the numerical value of the Torah’s first verse, tying the Torah together as an endless circle, just as it is meant to be.

Meanwhile, the initials of all 6 words  sum to 332, or 333 (utilizing the kolel of 1, as in the 3330 years, or 66.6 jubilee (Biblical 50-year period) years, from the end of the 1st exile and the reception of the Torah in 2448 to the year of prophecy and the end of the final exile in 5778 (2018 CE).

OK, so that might be a stretch except that the total gematria of the 5 words of the verse is 577, plus the word Israel, the word that ends the Torah cycle.

And according to the tzaddikim of blessed memory, we are in the final decade, 5770, leading up to the manifestation of Moshaich Ben David and the final redemption (geula) in 5778. This will occur in Israel as the exile will have ended.

Referring to the portion of Chukath that we discussed in our article “The Book of the Wars of the Lord,” the act of Moses striking the ground twice instead of following G-d commandment “to speak to the cliff (rock)” we noted that the value of that phrase was 848, or twice that of Mashiach Ben David (424). And also that the reason Moses did that was to shorten the time span of the arrival of the Moshiach by half, from the 5778 years, as denoted by the tzaddikim, to 2889 years, which is the midpoint in King David’s life, because Moses knew how strong the negative side would be today and how difficult it would be for us to overcome it.

Furthermore, the Torah hinted of this in the words “water from the rock,” which was what came directly from his action, in that this phrase’s numerical value is 345, that of Moses, whose completed spirit it is said will be our redeemer, our Moshiach, in the end of days.

We’ve drifted from the Shema, but for a purpose, but first, we need to tie all this into pasha Vaethchanan, where the Shema is found, and which starts off with Moses praying 515 times to enter the promised land in order to bring Moshiach once and for all.

We’ve discussed this in prior articles about his obeying G-d’s request of him to stop at 515, when the 516th time would have achieved his desired result, so we’ll only point out that 848 – 515 = 333, as in the initials of the 6 words of the Shema and as in the 3330 years that will transpire from the Exodus from Egypt and the reception of the Torah at Sinai when we were first offered the Tree-of-Life reality to the year 5778, when Rav Yehuda HaLevi Ashlag (HaSulam) of blessed memory and tells us we will next be offered that opportunity.

In the Torah portion Vaetchanan, we find a clue linking the final redemption prophecies of (Deuteronomy) Devarim chapter 4 with Moses’ pleas and his actions of striking the rock twice on our behalf in order to bring Moshiach earlier than the proscribed divine time frame in that this is the 515th chapter in the Torah.

Furthermore there are 4 phrases within this chapter of numerical value 848, including one at Devarim 4:40 “A long time in the land that God your Lord [is giving you for all time],” but we’ll get into Moses prophecies a little later.

In that same verse, Devarim 4:40, Moses uses the words “All time,” referring to the land that God our Lord is giving us for all time. “All time “kol h’yamim” is spelled in Hebrew CL HYMYM, which breaks down to kol (all) of numerical value 50, representing the 50 gates of Binah, the Biblical jubilee year (50-years long), s mentioned earlier “Shema.”

In this case the word value 50 is coupled with word for “the time” or “the days” h’yamim (HYMYM), and with the kolel of 1, it has the numerical value of 666. Thus, together, they give us the equation 50 x 66.6 jubilee years= 3330 years, which, as we’ve said, is the exact period of time from the first exodus and the reception of the Torah at Sinai when the tree-of-life was last offered to us in 2448 to the year 5778, which the tzaddikim have long known will be the next cosmic window for the Tree-of-life reality.

Nevertheless, in that same verse, Devarim 4:40, we also find that the full phrase “I am presenting to you today, so that He will be good to you and your children after you. Then you will endure for a long time in the land that God” has the numerical value 5777, and is only one of 13 phrases in the Torah with that value with the number 13 being the value of ahava (love) and Echad (one) as in “G-d is One” found later in this portion.

Echad (13) is not only the last word of the 6 words of verse, but teh 2nd half of the Shema + Echad equation that = 424, Moshiach Ben David, as mentioned in our earlier Shema articles.

But back to the word Shema, through its connection to the value 50, it also serves as the link between Zeir Anpin and Malchut. In that the initials of the last two sefirot have the numerical value of 10 and 40 respectively and also form the word for Sea (YM). If you look at the 5 sefirot of central column of the Tree-of-life you’ll see the initials of the upper 3 of them (CDT) equal 424, that o Moshiach Ben David, and the bottom 2 are Yud and Mem, 50.

The 6 words that initiate the Shema Ysrael are thus designed to help align us with the central column of the Tree-of-Life in order that we can help bring out and welcome Moshiach Ben David in our lifetime.  If there is one prayer that ALL (kol) Israel says it is the Shema Ysrael.  Let it be with the consciousness to bring Oneness and Moshiach.

Part IV of the Shema Ysrael will follow shortly, helping to fulfill my teacher’s wishes.

The Power of the Shema Israel, Part I

The deeper the secrets, the more important they are. The Shema Israel prayer is the most well known and widely recited Jewish prayer, yet most people recite it without a clue to its many secrets.  When I completed The Genesis Prayer on the Ana B’koach (42-Letter Name), my teacher advised me to write about the Shema, but I never did get around to it, besides a lengthy comment here and there in the blog, so here is part I in a series about the Shema, which we will, bli neder, complete over time.

Today, I’d like to reveal a few secrets about the initial 6 word refrain that begins the prayer in order to give us all the kavanot (or directed consciousness) when we do recite it, and to reveal why it is recited so often.

But first, I’ll let Aisha Torah give a brief introduction, and by all means please read the rest of their article on the Shema Yisrael — “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One” — is perhaps the most famous of all Jewish sayings.

“The Shema is a declaration of faith, a pledge of allegiance to One God. It is said upon arising in the morning and upon going to sleep at night. It is said when praising God and when beseeching Him. It is the first prayer that a Jewish child is taught to say. It is the last words a Jew says prior to death.

“The Talmud says that when Jacob was about to reveal the end of days to his children, he was concerned that one of them might be a non-believer. His sons reassured him immediately and cried out, “Shema Yisrael.”

“The Torah records Moses including the Shema in his farewell address to the Jewish people.

“We recite Shema when preparing to read the Torah on Sabbaths and festivals. And we recite Shema at the end of the holiest day of Yom Kippur when we reach the level of angels.

“Shema is contained in the mezuzah we affix to the doorpost of our home, and in the tefillin that we bind to our arm and head.”

Now, as for those six words:

Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One

As you may have noticed there is a large letter Ayin and Dalet in the first and last of the 6 words, which should have made all of us take notice of these 2 words in particular, but as my teacher’s teacher often said, what is least noticed is most important.

The first and last word of the famous verse, the words with enlarged final letters, Shema – Echad (ShMA – EchD), connect to Moshiach Ben David as will be explained shortly, and the enlarged letters, Ayin and Dalet, spell “witness” as the sages have told us, but they also have the numerical values 70 and 4 respectively.

The significance of this lies in the Zohar’s explanation of the coming of Moshiach and the end of the 4th exile at the end of the 70 years. And 70 years from Israel’s statehood in 1948 is also the end of the 4th exile that began 1948 years earlier in 70 CE with the destruction of the Second Holy Temple, giving us 2018 (5778 HC), the date Rav Yehuda Halevi Ashlag also gave us.  Pay close attention to what the verse says:

Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.

And pay close attention to where the verse is found: (Deuteronomy) Devarim 6:4 because the ordinal value of the name Israel (YShREL) is also 64. The verse is all about Israel.

The Shema is about Israel

We will save the real meaning of the word AD produced by these 2 large letters (Ayin and Dalet) for another article we’re preparing that deals with the final redemption and concentrate instead on the two words themselves today.

The first word is Shema (ShMA), of numerical value 410, the same as the word Kadosh, Holy) and the last word is Echad (EChD) of numerical value 13, the same as the word Ahava (love) and connected to the 13 attributes of G-d. So together we can take them to mean, “Hear One,” as in one voice, or “Hear Love” or “Holy One” or even, “Holy Love.” Nevertheless and regardless of how we take them, they add up together, including the kolel of 1, to 424, the numerical value of Mashiach Ben David, the Messiah.

The Shema is about bringing Mashiach Ben David

The Shema Israel comes from the Torah (Devarim 6:4) and all the technology of the Torah is designed to help us bring about Moshiach consciousness and prepare is to receive the Tree-of-Life reality when the window of opportunity (gates) opens in the next few years, which is why it is so important we understand what we are praying and why my teacher wanted me to reveal this now.

But don’t forget that we have to play our part too.  Being aware of the encoded technology is very important, but keeping our thoughts pure and focused on the elevation, on the unification and Oneness with G-d (YHVH), and on the divine and unconditional love is even more important.

End of Part I. Part II to follow shortly.
