The 10 plagues, Final Installment

…continued from the 10 Plagues and the Final Redemption

We’ve seen how the 10 plagues were more for the benefit of waking up the Israelites to the tree-of-life reality than shaking up the Egyptians, and how that were even more for our benefit as we deal with the same spiritual afflictions our brethren faced 66.6 jubilee years ago, when they too stood before the 50th gate of darkness. We’ve also seen how the dates of the Divine calendar were programmed into the 40 letters of the plagues so that the dates 3760 (0 CE), 26.26 jubilee years after the Exodus, and 5778 (2018 CE), 40 jubilee years later were highlighted, and connected to Moshiach (the Messiah), the geula (final redemption) and the the 42-letter Name of G-d (Ana B’koach).

Now, we’ll examine specifically how the final and 10th plague, the death of the first born, relates to us and our generation.

Interestingly enough, the two initials of the last plague, the killing of the first born, make up the last of the 11 initials and are Mem and Bet as in the Mem-Bet, or 42-Letter Name of G-d, and if we were to add the value of the missing vav (6) or the omitted 41st letter mentioned in the previous blog the 352 times that the initials Mem-Bet appears sequentially in the Torah, we’d get 358, the numerical value of Mashiach, the Messiah.

Furthermore, we’ve seen the sum of the gematria sofit values of the 10 plagues is 5546, which is 232 (the value of the 4 aspects of the Tetragrammaton) less than 5778, the year prophesied by the tzaddikim for the arrival of Moshiach, but if we sum up the square roots of each of the 10 plagues, again utilizing gematria sofit and this time add the square root of 232 we get 314…. the numerical value of Shadai, Mettatron, Pi, etc), just like the first 11 letters of parsha Bo (VYEMR YHVH EL) where we find the last 3 plagues.

Shadai (ShDY) is the Name of G-d, placed on every Jewish door post as protection against negativity and for those that understand, as a gateway to the world above, so it’s very fitting that 314, Shadai, would be at the entrance to the Tree-of-life reality, just as the place the Israelites crossed the Sea of Reeds was PI-Haraoth.

It was Rabbi Chaim Vital of blessed memory who taught that all Torah light is spread through squaring so we know that this is no coincidence and, as detailed in The Genesis Prayer, we’ve already established the overwhelming evidence and significant connections integrally linking 314 (PI to several decimal places) and the Torah, the 42-Letter Name, and 358 (Mashiach); and then again to the year 5778 in There’s Nothing Random in the Universe.

In one of chazal’s prophecies it says. “Like the days you left Egypt, I will show you wonders”. This is a reference to the final redemption.

According to the tzaddikim, Moses’ staff was engraved with both the Shem Mem-Bet (42-Letter Name) and the 72 Names of G-d, which are derived from the three consecutive 72 letter verses that narrate the crossing of the Red Sea (Sea of Reeds).  And it took the power of the 42-Letter Name coupled with the 72 Names to help the Israelites break through the final barrier of illusions, which is why the special 3-columned structure of the Song of Moses, praising G-d for the deliverance from exile, is in paragraph 42 of Shmot (The Book of Names, Exodus).

Moreover, while all 11 initials of the 10 plagues sum up to 541, the numerical value of Israel, the 3 initials of the first and last plague together, are Dalet-Mem-Bet, which spells out the 65th of the 72 Names of G-d, Dalet-Mem-Bet. Meanwhile, the numerical value of the initials Dalet-Mem-Bet is 46, that of meah, Hebrew for 100 and “100 Gates” or Meah Sharim (MEH ShYRIM) is 46 + 420 = 666.

But this connection to 100 is deeper than at first appears because the sum of the ordinal value of the 11 initials (D,Z,C,A,D,SH,B,E,Ch,B,M) of the 10 plagues is 100.  And to a kabbalist, 100 is always keter (the highest sefira) and we further know from the Arizal that the 10 plagues are analogous to the 10 sefirot stretching from dam (blood) representing malchut to the death of the first born, representing keter.

Now, the meaning of 100 gates, used in Genesis 26:12, is twofold: first they represent the fully blossomed tree-of-life with the 10 sub-sefirot (dimensions) for each of the 10 sefirot, but it can also represent both the 50 positive gates of Binah (Understanding) and the corresponding polar opposite 50 gates of negativity. 66.6 jubilee years (50 year intervals) ago in 2448 HC, the Israelites were able to shed their disbeliefs and illusions and swinging from one extreme to the other they were able to transverse all 100 gates in a single moment that split the Red Sea.

That seminal moment is available to each of us today, their counterparts in this divine plan. And like the Israelites back then, we too will have to come together, pool our strengths, and utilize the Names, which is why now after 3330 (66.6 jubilee) years the understanding of the Names are being made available to everyone, not just the selected few who have safe kept and guarded them for us all these generations. It was Rabbi Abraham Abulafia who advised that no secret gets revealed without Heavenly permission and according to chazal, “when the student is ready the teacher will come,” not the other way around. Though we think we are the ones seeking it out, it’s really the knowledge that finds us.

The 11 Initial Letters

There are 11 unique letters in the first verse of the Torah, corresponding to the 11 spices of the Holy Temple and there are 11 first letters of the 10 plagues. The tzaddikim from Abraham to Abulafia to the Arizal have taught us to permute and roll the letters, and when we do so with these 11 initials we get both the Shem Mem-Bet (the 42-letter Name)and the Ayin-Bet Shemot (the 72 Names). Once the letter Tzaddi is broken into its component nun and yud, these 11 letters (D,Z,C,A,D,SH,B,E,Ch,B,M) can be permuted to form:

Keter (C)

Echad (E,Ch,D)

Mem-bet (M,B)

Ayin-Bet (A,B)

Shaddai (Sh, D, Y)

Nun (N)

It’s said by the sages that in the time of Mashiach, the Messiah, the Tzaddi will split into Nun and Yud, then the Yud will change direction to face forward) and then reconnect.

The significance of this permutation is that they spell out Echad, One, as in “G-d is One;” Mem-Bet, as in the 42-Letter Name of G-d, and the 42 places the Jews journeyed through on their way to Israel, and then Ayin-Bet, as in the 72 Names of G-d, both of which were used to split the Sea of Reeds according to the sages; Shaddai, the Name of G-d that appears on all mezuzot and that starts of the mathematical constant Pi: and the letter Nun, whose numerical value is 50 as in the 50th Gate, which the Israelites were at before crossing the Sea of Reeds.

The letter nun (50) also represents the 50 times the Exodus is mentioned in the Torah; as in the 50 days from the Exodus to the reception of the Torah at Mt. Sinai, as in the 50 component letters used to construct the 27 letters of the Hebrew alphabet; and as in the length of the biblical jubilee year (50 calendar years) used to reckon the arrival of H’Mashiach.

In many senses the 10 plagues were a cleansing of the Jewish and world soul, the nefesh housed in the blood, in preparation for the reception of the Torah 50 days later. Nefesh has the numerical value of 430, and the exodus in 2448 HC marked the end of the Israelites 430 years of exile.

An alternative way to permute the 11 letters also forms koach, strength, as in Ana B’Koach, and Eden, foundation, as in Gan Eden, the Garden of Eden, where the tree-of-life (10 sefirot) metaphorically grows. Koach has the numerical value of 28, a number very central to the entire Torah and Divine calendar and also the number of letters in the Torah’s first verse, where the 42-Letter Name is derived from.

The Hebrew year 5778, the year given as the year of the Final Redemption, is 2018 in the Western calendar and 50 years earlier, one jubilee year, was the year 1968, the year of Revolution. It’s no coincidence the Beatles’ song Revolution came out that year. 1968 was the year the Vietcong launched the Tet Offensive and the world witnessed the My Lai Massacre; the year the Warsaw Pact invaded Czechoslovakia to crush the Prague Rebellion; the year of Black Power demonstrations in Howard University, the Mexico City Olympics, etc; the year of student protests in Poland and Germany and Tlatelolco Massacre of the students in Mexico; the year the French Government was brought to the brink of revolution under siege by the student protests; the year of the Cantonsville Nine war protest and student war protests in universities all over the US; The year the war protestors clashed with the Chicago police outside the Democratic National Convention; the year Martin Luther King was assassinated and the riots that followed; the year Robert F Kennedy was assassinated; the year Nixon became president; and the year the Gold Standard was legally dropped and the dollar decoupled from gold, sealing the fate of the US economy; and finally, the year Saddam Hussein took power in Iraq, setting us up for where we are today, ironically (coincidentally) mired in yet another Vietnam. 1968 was 32 Years before the 2000 millennium.

The year of Revolution, 1968, began the final jubilee year, the last of the 66.6 jubilee years from the Exodus to the Final Redemption, the last of the 40 jubilee years from 3760 (0 CE) to 5778, corresponding to the 40 letters of the 10 plagues, and the 40 chapters in Exodus.

So, yes, history will repeat itself. And yes, things will get ugly. But, yes, this exile will end.   We need to do our part though by embracing the tree-of-life reality and getting past the illusions that keep us all prisoners in this exile.   If the Israelites could jump 100 gates from the 50th gate of negativity to the 50th gate of Binah, so can we.  G-d created the time frame of 5778 (2018 CE) for our generation, for us, and He is no less with us today than He was for our ancestors.

The Sacrifices; Then and more so Now.

Each of the 8 days of Chanukah we read a laundry list of sacrifice to be made by the 12 tribes in the Miskan or Holy Temple, events far removed from our lives by thousands of years.

So why do we recite these sacrifices when we can’t physically make them without the Holy Temple, and haven’t been able to do so for nearly 2000 years? Before we get to why, lets see what the sacrifices are all about first.

The 130 shekels of silver for the plate each day corresponds Jacob’s age when he entered Egypt to begin the exile in Egypt. It’s also the value of Sinai, where the Israelites received the Torah 210 years later. The 70 shekels of silver correspond to the 70 family members with Jacob who entered Egypt. It also represents the 70 nations of the current exile and the year 70 CE when the Second Holy Temple was destroyed and the current exile began. And while the 10 shekels of gold correspond to the 10 utterances received at Sinai, the full weight of 130+70=10 = 210 shekels thus corresponds to the 210 years of the Egyptian exile, and the value of the word Shekel (ShKL), or 430, corresponds to the 430 years of the full first exile from the Covenant of Abraham in 2018 HC to the reception of the Torah at Sinai in 2448 HC.

Now, a deeper secret within this weight is that 210 shekels are equivalent to a numerical value of 210 x 430 = 90,300 or 903 x 100, an 903 is the recognized sum of all the positive integers through 42 and since there is a spiritual tenet that nothing is ever lost, 903 is the full inclusive value of 42, encompassing all the energy of the integers that came before it.

Each Chanukah we read about the sacrifices from Numbers (B’midbar) 7:1-89 and 8:1-4, and while the 89 verses of chapter 7 obviously correspond to the gematria value of Chanukah (89), the 4 verses of chapter 8 correspond to the 4 periods of exile.

The word Shekel is repeated 26 times during in the 93 verses of the full reading and not only is 26 the value of the Tetragrammaton (YHVH), but the value of the word shekel (ShKL) spelled out (gematria milui) is 620, that of keter, the highest, crowning sefira (dimension) and in the multiply repeated phrase Shekel B’Shekel H’Kodesh, the word H’Kodesh (HKDSh) likewise has the gematria milui (spelled-out-value), including the kolel, of 1000, which is also representative of keter, and of elef (ELP), one thousand, and thus to the letter alef (ELP), alluding to the beginning. Therefore, the phrase Shekel B’Shekel H’Kodesh can read as “the crown in the crown at the beginning,” or even “keter of keter of keter,” which is the highest level imaginable.

Now there’s obviously a lot of potent energy available in these connections to the YHVH and to keter of keter of keter, but how does it relate to us?

Well, to begin with, the word H’kodesh in gematria milui sofit also has the numerical value of 2008, as in the year just past 2008 CE, when from a financial standpoint the world began its implosion, when the world’s stock markets declined a collective 42%.

Moreover, the total average value of the 41 combined occurrences of the 3 words in the phrase Shekel B’Shekel H’Kodesh found in the reading of the sacrifices is ((15 x 409)+(12×430)+(14×432))/3 – 3 (kolel) = 5778, as in the year 5778 HC (2018 CE), less than 10 years from now, when chazal has prophesied the coming of H’Mashiach.

There are 6 different phrases throughout the sacrifices that have a numerical value of 5777, (representing the year 2017 CE) and of the 5845 verses in the Torah, there are only 13 incidences where the value of a phrase wholly within a verse has the value of 5777 and one of those is verse Numbers 7:87 of the sacrifices, the summary verse for all the sacrifices: “…12 young bulls, 12 rams and 12 male lambs a year old, together with their grain offering. 12 male goats….” This is significant because the geula was prophesied to most probably occur in the period 5777.78 to 5778.28 .

As for the year 5778, amongst the 93 verses of the sacrifices there are 16 occurrences of phrases (defined as a contiguous grouping or words) with the total value of 5778, the last of which is in the final verse of the sacrifices, Numbers 8:4, where we find the 22-word phrase “…the Menorah, just as The Lord Commanded Moses. This is how the menorah was made: It was made from hammered gold…had shown.”

And not coincidentally, the number 84 represents Pad, redemption, the union of the upper and lower Mem-Bet (42-Letter Names) necessary for the geula.

But possibly even more telling, of the 5845 verses in the Torah, 3.14%, or 184 phrases wholly within verses, equal 2019, the first year of the new era of Mashiach as prophesied by chazal, and of these 184 phrases, 35 are within the 93 verses of the sacrifices, an unfathomably large percentage. Moreover, as you may have already recognized, 184 is the numerical value of Pkad, which chazal has independently connected to the coming of Mashiach and which we wrote about in a previous blog.

So of the 93 verses of the sacrifices, fully, 57 (6, 16, and 35) are either connected to the year 2017 (5777), 2018 (5778), or 2019 and another 41 times specifically to 5778 through the repeated occurrences of shekel b’shekel h’kodesh.

Can this be a coincidence? No, there’s no statistical way. It had to have been planned that way long before the Maccabees, from the moment of the creation of the Torah. And thus it’s no coincidence either that 57/93 = .612903, or 612 (brit/covenant) and 903, and allusion to the mem-bet (42-Letter Name) as described above.

So the message is clear what the sacrifices have programmed into them: a subliminal connection for us to the geula and the coming of Moshiach. And so it’s also now clear, why we should recite them every year even though there’s no Temple or channel to make the sacrifices.

But they are also a reminder that in order to be part of the geula (final redemption), we need to make sacrifices, and through his translation and interpretation of the Zohar in Vayegash 63, Rav Ashlag (HaSulam) tells us how: From man, four types of men branched out-some righteous and some wicked, some stupid and some wise. Of these, some were rich and some poor.  They can bring merit and benefit to each other. The righteous can benefit the wicked by causing them to repent their sins; the wise can benefit the foolish by teaching them sense; the rich can benefit the poor by supporting them in their need. Through these actions man merits life everlasting and attaches himself to the tree-of-life.”

According to Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, author of the Zohar, this is the secret meaning of Bereshit 2:10 “A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden. From there it divided and became four major rivers,” which is another reason why the weight of the sacrifices was 210 shekels.

In order to connect with the tree-of-life reality, the Mashiach reality, being offered to us for the 3rd, and possibly final time, in the 5778 period, we need to be our brothers’ keepers. We were all born with a purpose. If we’re rich, we must help our poorer brethren; this is why they were born without mazal and we were.  If we were born wise, it’s our duty with the less fortunate to share our wisdom and knowledge. They are there for us as much as we are there for them. And if we’re righteous we must stand up to the wicked, reach out to them with unconditional love; we must find the holy sparks and allow them to be elevated.

If you believe in G-d, then you must know that he could have made everyone rich, wise and righteous, but what purpose would we then have.  What would we contribute to the universe; why would we need a conscience or a consciousness.  And if we don’t have a purpose then what are we doing with ourselves? Are we using our consciousness? We must do our part to help our brethren reach the tree-of-life reality, and in so doing, help ourselves reach it as well.

As for the sacrifice we read about, at the end of the 4th exile, we must also make them too, though to us they are now more personal.  Each of the 4 types of animals had a specific purpose to help the 4 types of man.  But the gold and silver had other significance too, to open up the gates of wisdom for us.

The complete value (standard plus ordinal) of silver, representing gevura/judgment is 203, as in the first 3 letters of the Torah and the complete value of gold, repesting chesed/loving-kindness is 28, as in the 28 letters of the Torah’s first verse and all 12 tribes were instructed to give both gold and silver in the weights/proportions described above for the sacrifices.  Together the complete values of gold and silver (28 + 203) = 231, as in the 231 Gates of Wisdom, described by Abraham in the Sefer Yetzirah, and in the sum of the positive integers through 22, as in the 22 letters of the alef-bet.  Gold and silver, money, assets, mean nothing in the achievement of the tree-of-life reality–it can’t be purchased, but chesed/loving-kindness, and helping one another, these are the commodities that count.  If you were blessed with money, use it to help others while you still can.  42% of the assets ($29 trillion or so) in the worlds stock markets were lost year.  It could have been 72%, and it still could be. Do your part while it’s only 42%, support the wise ones and the righteous ones to do there part–the part you cannot do for yourself, and help the poor ones so they may help you.  If you’re wise, reach out and teach. If you’re, righteous, shine forth and elevate.  We must all help each other–none of us can make the sacrifices on there own.  All the 12 tribes gave equally. The sacrifices are made for the community.

The hope for the community lies in our individual sacrifice of the rich helping the wise and righteous, and the wise and the righteous helping the rich and wicked to see, and together everyone helping the poor.  Only as a community can we overcome our destinies.

The Secret of Water: Water is life, Water is King, G-d is in the Water

It had rained for 2 days straight and with the flood water rising in my backyard, I was reading the Zohar on parsha Noach last night, and not surprisingly there are many insights there into the nature of water.

What is in the water we drink? How long can we go without a glass of water. When we fast on Yom Kippur and Tish B’av what are we depriving ourselves of, restricting from. Is it just from our physical desires?

Genesis (Bereshit) 7:4 “And it rained upon the earth for 40 days and 40 nights…”

From Exodus (Shemot) 24:18 ” And Moshe entered into the midst of the cloud…Moshe came to the cloud where Elohim was…Moshe was on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights.”

What was so important about there being 40 days and 40 nights? If the Torah had told us only about 40 days or 40 nights we would have inferred the other without a second thought.

Why was there a front side 40 and a backside 40?

Both the rains the clouds are comprised wholly of water, the essence of life. Moreover, they are both water from above, from on high if you will.

Mayim, water is spelled MYM which each mem (M) having a value of 40, a front side 40 and a backside 40.

In between the two mems (MM) is the letter yud (Y), which mimics the actual physical construction of the water molecule, H2O, two hydrogen atoms and one Oxygen one in the center. If we assume a divine plan to life, then we can assume that the HOH is spiritually connected and represented by HVH, the Hebrew equivalent. And then if we add that to mayim, MYM, we get MEM (MM) and YHVH, the Tetragrammaton.

Now it just so happens the the letter Mem (MM) in gematria sofit (final letter) is 640 and YHVH is always 26, so (MM and YHVH) can very well equal 640 + 26 = 666. And thus 666 can be the symbol of life giving waters of Hashem (God).

Moreover, the spelled-out letter Mem (MM) has the ordinal value of 26, again that of the YHVH, the ineffable Name of G-d.

The actual molecular structure would be M(YHVH)M, and it would help explain why there is no physical life without water.

Why is the very first thing we learn after hearing that “G-d created Heaven and Earth” in Genesis 1:1 that in Genesis 1:2 “He hovered above the waters?” We can write endlessly as to what this means, but the 21st word in the Torah is “the waters, ” mentioned even before “the Light,” stressing its importance.

This would also explain the extraordinary similarities between water (MYM) and KIng (MLC), both of which have the numerical value of 90, and the ordinal value of 36, which together are each 90 + 36 =126, which is also 126 = 3 x 42, as in the 42-Letter Name of G-d (Shem Mem-bet). another secret of 126 is that it is also 100 + 26, or the value of keter, the highest spiritual level and 26, the YHVH.

Moreover, the gematria atbash (reverse alphabet cipher) of water, MYM is YMY, is of numerical value 60, while the gematria atbash of Melech, king (MLC) is (YCL) or 60 as well. And the small (gematria katan) value of each is also the same, 4+1+4 = 9 = 4+3+2. And similarly in E’bG’d gematria, where each letter is switched for the next highest ordinal value letter, the values of the two 3-letter words become 50+20+50 = 120 = 50+40+30.

And while there are other similarities we’ll just note that the gematria of both words is also 400+100+400 = 900 = 400 + 300 + 200, with 900 being the value of the final final letter in the Alef-bet (alphabet), Zaddi, who also has the value of 90, which as you recall was the original simple value of both water and king.

There are no other word pairs with such similar spiritual structures, and of course, Hashem is known as the King, the King of Kings. In kabbalistic spirituality, the more alike something is in form the shorter the distance between them and the stronger the ties/bonds between them. Between King and Water there’s very little distance, one hovering above the other.

But back to water itself, If we spell out the letters in mayim, we get MM, YVD, MM whose simple value is 80 + 20 + 80 = 180, which is 10 x 18, and 18 is the value of the the Hebrew word, chai, life, and thus symbolizes life throughout the 10 dimensions (serifot). Life from water! And it’s no coincidence that the square root of 18 is 4.242640, or Maschiah Ben David (424), YHVH (26) and 40.

And while the mem-yud spelled out has the value (100), that of Keter, the crown, the highest sefira/dimension, the final mem (MM) can be thought of as the 40 days and 40 nights.

So knowing that G-d (YHVH) is in the water and that water is connected to the highest spiritual level and purity, what do you think happens when we contaminate and pollute our water? What spiritual message do you think that is sending to the universe? Wouldn’t that be figuratively like throwing (G-d forbid, Has v’shalom) garbage at G-d. So what does that say about us and our readiness to receive the Mashiach, the Messiah.

When we restrict from drinking water in our fasts, we are reminding ourselves how important it is to have G-d, Hashem, in our lives, how our sustenance and survival is dependent upon it. But of course, we must understand why we are restricting before we can reap the benefits. There have been may scientific tests that show water is indeed sensitive at the structural level to different energy (vibes). So rather than restricting a couple days of years, let’s restrict the whole year from negativity, from polluting the waters of the earth physically and spiritually. Like attracts like; like below is above. Moses attracted the Clouds-of-glory. Noach’s generation attracted the devastating flood waters. The erev rav got 40 years in the desert for their lack of faith. And our generations? We invented acid rain. We need to do better.

The word “the heavens,” H’Shama’im, the 5th word in the Torah (Bible), contains the word water (mayim). Is that a coincidence too? Mayim (water) is repeated twice within the first 2 verses of the Torah, in the 5th (H’Shama’im) and in the 21st word, the waters H’mayim. Together, 5 + 21 = 26, the value of the YHVH. Together the numerical value of the full two words is equivalent to that of H’Shechinah and to “The KING, a complicated concept that in simple terms refers to the integration of the male and female aspects of G-d and the universe in harmony, the mutual giving and receiving in purity. Numerically, it’s 395 + 95 + 26 (kolel for the ordinal; word value) =516, the number of times Moses needed to pray in order to bring H’Mashiach, the Messiah.

Now here is another deep secret, a deep Bible code if you will. In known by chazal that the waters that split the Red Sea (See of Reeds) were programmed to do so since the dawn of creation. The first mention of water in the Torah is in the word H’Shama’im in the Torah’s 1st verse. The letters for water (MYM) are the 19th, 20, and 21st letters in the Torah, and the 3 verses of the splitting of the Red Sea, the 3 sequential verses of 72 letters from which the 72 Names of G-d are derived, are Exodus (Shemot) 14:19, 20, and 21.

As it was in the beginning, G-d hovers above the waters. The waters are a powerful direct connection we have to G-d; let’s use them in a positive way, in the pure way they were meant to be used. And let’s bring about the Moshiach in our generation.

The Torah  gives us a final clue to how we can help purify the waters again, physically and spiritually, and that is found int eh number of times the word water (mayim) is found in one form or another in the Torah.  It’s found 173 times and 173 is the small gematria value of the 42-Letter name of G-d, (the Shem Mem-Bet, also known as the Ana B’koach).
