A Quick Channukah Gift and Blessing before Shabbat

We first mentioned this specific gift a few weeks ago but you may have missed it within a much larger article. This is the easiest of gifts and you can and should use it many times a day, every time you recite or hear a blessing.

Most blessings begin with the word blessed, Baruch (ברוך), whose sofit value is 708, as in the value of 42-Letters in the fully iterated Upper 42-Letter Name of G-d.

This is the station hub above for clearing all the prayers and messages.  As the Arizal explains, no prayer get processed without the 42-Letter Names.

It is not coincidental the Israel became a nation in 5708.

We follow Baruch (ברוך) with Atah Adonai (אתה–יהוה) whose numerical value is 432, connecting us and the blessing to the sea of Binah and the Binah frequency of 432 HZ.

We first wrote about this frequency in “Would I ever tell you to eat a BLT where we showed the symmetry in the Torah’s last word (ישראל) and its first (בראשית) which permute to (אשרי) (בלת) (אשרי), which has the letters (בלת) of numerical value 432 sandwiched between the word Ashrei that means blessing.

Therefore, with each blessing (ברוך‐אתה–יהוה) that we recite, or that we say Amen to, we can connect directly and clearly to the spiritual Sea of Binah. The Sea of Binah is the World to Come, where we will find Moshaich consciousness waiting for us.

It is also imperative that we say Amen (אמן) to any and all blessing we here. According to the Zohar, when we say Amen of numerical value 91 we are are not only completing the powerful unification of the Tetragrammaton  (יהוה) with Adonai (אדני) as (יאהדונהי) to link our world with Zeir Anpin, but something even more powerful happens.  When we complete the blessing for someone that blessing rises up, gets approved then spreads out and rains down inclusive of all the blessings upon our world. It is that important, and that powerful.  We get the same blessing that was said as if we said it ourselves and we get the light for sharing it with the entire world.

May the light of Chanukah and the blessings you hear and recite fill the entire world with the Ohr HaGanuz.

Sukkot is Upon Us.

We’re going in a new direction soon and will begin explaining the meaning and significance of the dimensions of the Third Temple. All the proportions we’ve learned about through the Torah, the Names, and the universal constants will have new meaning as we explore the place where all the Shefa (life-force) flows through into our world. Before the Third Temple can be constructed we must understand it. It already exists spiritually, but just knowing the dimensions and erecting stone walls won’t do it. We have the knowledge and it’s coming time to apply it. When we take the process and the knowledge run it through our hearts we will connect to the Tree-of-Life, the greater universe, the Cosmos, and the Holy Third Temple. And then it will be time.

A long time ago, I promised to explain and expand on Abraham Avinu’s layout of the Cosmos first delineated in his Sefer Yetzirah, and now we will do so in the context of the Holy Temple’s design. G-d willing, we will all understand.

When Noach sent out the dove 3 times to find dry land it was an allusion to the 3 Holy Temples, and to the 3 times the numbers 5778 and 2019 appear in the first 1000 (Aleph) digits of Pi (See There’s Nothing Random About the Universe).

It’s almost time to let the dove loose again. There is a lot of work to be done this year and the holiday of Sukkot is almost upon us. They are calling for rain in New York and that’s not good. We’re going to need the power of the sukkah and of the unifications we can make in it in order to do our work properly so we’re going to need everyone’s consciousness in a place of unity, love, and sharing to stave off the rain this year. Let’s all spend the next few days thinking, speaking, and listening through our hearts and the blessings will come to all.

I’m repeating and updating below an article posted a year ago to explain many of the secrets and kavannot of the shakings of the lulov within the sukkah. This year, if we shake with our hearts we will shake the world awake. Let’s do it together.

The Shakings

Regarding the daily shakening of the four species, they would seem to correspond to (5 sets x 6 directions) the 30 blasts of the shofar, and the numerical gematria value (30) of the large Lamed (connected to Binah) in the Torah. Lamed has the numerical value of 74 or 70 +4, which as you’ll see later, representing the 70 Nations and 4 species.

That Lamed connects to the Lamed of Lulav. It’s also the Lamed that along with the letter Pe controls the month of Tishrei (Libra), according to Abraham Avinu, in which we do both the shofar blowings and the shakings. It’s also the lamed of the word aleph (ELP, the first), and when the controlling letters of Tishrei are completed with the letter Aleph (Aleph-Lamed-Pe), they connect to both keter and the beginning, as in Aleph B’Tishrei (permutated to spell Bereshit, the beginning).

With the 3 shakings per direction, corresponding to the 3 beats per type of blast of the shofar, there are 18 total shakings per set, and as Rav Abraham Brandwein points out, “The Lulav hints at the vertebral column that has 18 vertebrae and every movement indicates vitality. Thus all 4 species need to be damp and alive and not dry.” The 18 corresponds to the value of the word, chai, (life). And straightening this connection is that the word value of lulav is 68, as in chaim (life)

With 18 shaking per each of the 5 sets there are 91 total shakings per day, which corresponds to amen and teh all-important unification of G-d’s Names that it represents (YHVH-ADNY ) and to the value of the word Succah itself.

Moreover, at 30 daily shakenings x 7 days, there are 210 total shakings, as in the 210 years of Egyptian exile. And when the 3 shakings per direction are considered, there are 210 x 3 or 630 total shakings in the 7 days. 630 is 10 x 63, the value of the Tetragramamton in the aspect of Binah. The 10 always corresponds to the 10 sefirot (dimensions) and in this case to the 10 sub-dimensions (inner sefirot) within Binah. During the entire process of Sukkot, we’re drawing down the energy from Yesod of Ima (Binah) so the Binah connections are very fitting and part and parcel to the technology involved in the shakings.

Over the 7 days of Sukkot, we’re making 70 sacrifices to share the energy with the 70 nations of the world. Each of these sacrifices corresponds to a specific one of the sub-sefirot in order as we descend through them during the 7 day period.

Regarding the four species: As we know from the Arizal, the four species correspond to the Tetragrammaton (YHVH): Hadas (Yud), Aravah (Hei), lulav (vav) and Etrog (hei). So since the numerical values of Hadas and Aravah = 346 (Shmo), the two species above correspond to Y-H Shmo (the Name of YH), as in 5 of the 6 letters that occur at the top of the 248 columns of the Torah that are not vavs, excluding the initial Bet of bereshit. But the three sides of the sukkah itself forms the shape of the letter Bet, completing the B’Y-H ShMV sequence.

The missing Bet from the B’Y-H ShMV sequence would also appear to be the Bet in lulav (LVLB), since the word lulav represents teh whole Torah in two different ways in that it begins with (L) and ends in (B) and also ends in the letter combination Lamed-Bet (LB), as in the first (B) and last (L) letters of the Torah. This letter reversal is an allusion to the recycling of the Torah that occurs during this period when we read the last verse of the Torah and immediately twist it back to the beginning and read from Bereshit.

Moreover, the numerical value of Hadas and Aravah and lulov together = 414 (kaddish) or 2 x 207 (the numerical value of Or/light), and thus twice light, representing the running and returning light

And as in known from chazal, etrog has the value 610 as in parnesa (sustenance) and ma’aser (tithing) and their various meditations for drawing the Shefa into our lives. The Etrog corresponds to the malchut of yesod, the place where we earn our parnesa (sustenance).

But the total value of the 4 species = 1024, which is 256 x 4 with 256 being the value or the Ark of the Covenant (also Aaron) and 1024 being both 210 as in the 210 years of exile yet again, and also 1024 represents the 1024 unique word values in the Torah, which is not coincidence and not coincidentally 32 x 32 which when we study the structure of the Third Temple, we’ll understand how they all relate and relate to the 32 paths of the Tree-of-Life.

Furthermore, as we meditate on ending the 4th exile by sharing light with the 70 nations through the 70 sacrifices, it’s appropriate that the sum of the 4 final letters (B,G,H,S) in the names of the 4 species add up to 70, while that of the Hadas and Arava alone add up to 65, the numerical value of Adonai.

And it’s almost needless to mention that the end of the 4th exile is supposed to happen 70 years after Israel became a nation in 1948 (5708)

Interestingly, and not coincidentally, the sum of the ordinal value of the 16 x 4) letters in the names of the 4 species is 151, as in the value of the Name, Ehyeh (EHYH) spelled out (milui) and also of the word, mikve.
Moreover, the sum of the ordinal value of the letters in lulav is 32, as in the numerical value of the letters Lamed and Bet (LB), which spells Lev, the Hebrew word for heart, and as previously mentioned the last and first letters in the Torah. Yet another connection to the 32 paths of Wisdom, which is in essence the Tree-of-life, represented by the lulav, whose standard gematria value is 68, that of chaim (life). And note that the Inner Courtyard of the Third Temple is 100 cubits by 100 cubits and the Alter in the center of it is 32 x 32 cubits, leaving space of 68 cubits all around.

Moreover, when we add Lulav’s standard value and its ordinal one, we get 68 + 32 = 100, the value of, sach (SCC), the very important roof (covering) of the Sukkah and the representation value of keter, the highest sefira.

So when we shake the Lulav we not only want to bring it back to our heart but we want to mediate the light and love channeling back and forth through it, as we stand both in our succahs and in the center of the Third Temple

Now, if we add all the elements of the holiday together, we get 100 (Sach) + 91 (sukkah) + 1024 (4 species) = 1215. There is a reason for 1215 but we wont go into it now, but when we take away 1 for the kolel, and get 1214, much of the technology gets revealed:

For example the 11 unique letters used in creation of the first verse of the Torah connect with the 11 dots above the letters that occur in the same parsha (portion) as the large letter lamed, and together they help us convert curses into blessings through the 11 incenses (etc). These 11 unique letters have a complete value (ordinal plus standard gematria) of 1214, and 1214 is the exact numerical value of “70 languages” (ShBAYM LShVNVT), corresponding to the 70 nations for whom we’re making the sacrifices. Also, 1214 is the exact value for the Hebrew phrase (ZYRVP HEVTYVT) meaning “permutation of the letters.”

Now, while the last of the 11 letters in the words under the 11 dots is the letter ayin, with a value of 70, the complete value (standard and ordinal) of all 11 letters under the dots is 422, which is the exact numerical value of the word “seventy (70)” (ShBAYM). These, of course, connect to the destruction of the first Two Holy Temples in –422 BCE and in 70 CE, respectively, as is detailed and chronicled in The Divine Calender.

It’s also not a coincidence that the letter ayin, with a numerical value of 70, has an ordinal value of 16, as in the 16 letters of the 4 species discussed above.

In case it’s not understood, it is our responsibility to mediate on sharing this light with the 70 Nations, and this is why we were blessed to be the channels and given these magnificent divine tools to use. As it says in Isaiah 56:7, ” I will bring them to My holy Mountain and make them rejoice in My House of Prayer…For My House will be called the House of Prayer for all the nations.”

Sukkot is the time of joy, when the energy of rejoicing is drawn down upon us by our actions within the succah for the whole year. Let’s do all we can to spread that rejoicing to the entire world.

On Track for Mazal and Love

This weekend we read Parsha Shemini, meaning the 8th, the 28th portion in the Torah. A fews days earlier we celebrated the 8 days of Pesach and read from Ki Thisa and the 13 Attributes of G-d (Exodus 34:5-7).

As usual the clues to the secrets of the Torah portions are concealed within their first few words. The parshat of Shemini begins with the 3 words “V’yhy byom HaShemini” (” ויהי־ביום־השמיני”), “And it came to pass on the eighth day,” whose total value is 504. Now this is very interesting because the Talmud states that in this portion at Leviticus 10:16 is found the midpoint of the Torah in words, which most people have understood as a place where there are an equal number of words before and after this point, but they are wrong. The midpoint that splits the number of words in two equal parts is at Leviticus 8:15, which can be easily verified with word-counting software.

Nevertheless, at Leviticus 10:16 is found the midpoint of the Torah in terms of the 77 pairs of the mysterious double (twin) words–words that are duplicated side by side like railroad tracks running through the Torah, often words with the exact same vowels too and which have seemingly no reason for being duplicated.

Here at Leviticus 10:16 are found the two words darosh and darash ( “דָּרֹשׁ דָּרַשׁ” ), each with the value 504. Most scholars translate them as one word, “inquired,” but darosh (“דָּרֹשׁ”) conveys future tense and darash (“דָּרַשׁ” ) conveys past tense, thus the act of inquiring has the answer already implicit in it, or in other words, “Ask and ye shall receive,” or “Ask, because on the spiritual level you’ve already received.” It’s easy to see how one could make this mistake since 504 is the numerical value for the word chatzot, meaning “midnight,” or “half,” or “middle, and unbelievably, there are exactly 50 (fifty) 504‘s in the Torah, 25 in each half once it’s split at darosh darash.

And yet another important fact overlooked by Torah scholars for millennia is that 504 is the exact square root of the collective number of words, letters, and verses in the Torah, since as R’ Chaim Vital of blessed memory points out, all Torah light is spread through squaring, this central place in the double words can be viewed as the central point of spreading for all the Torah light.

The combined value of the two twin words darosh and darash (דָּרֹשׁ דָּרַשׁ) is 1008, or 1000 (keter) plus 8. Not coincidentally there are 77 twin words in total as the sum of the first 8 words in the Torah is 3003, which is the 77th Triangular number, and thus the sum of all the integers from 1 to 77, the sum of all the latent energy in all the whole numbers through 77.

According to the Arizal, 77 is Mazal (MZL), as is the number 8, and as is the 8th of the 13 attributes, which we just so happened to have read this week as well. And as we discussed it our last article, the sum of the 9 (3 x 3) words up to the 8th attribute (through the 7th) is 1089 or 332. And incidentally, there are 33 letters in those first 8 words of the Torah.

It’s also noteworthy that 504 = (248 + 256) is the sum of the values of Abraham (248), or alternatively Bamidbar (Numbers, 248), and of both Aaron and the “Ark of the Covenant” (256), or alternatively Devarim (Deuteronomy, 256), two Books and numbers at the heart of the Torah. And while (256 – 248) = 8, its more significant because the letter koof (“ק”), whose value is a perfect 100 which can be split 50/50, is found 2488 times through Leviticus 8:15, the Torah’s midpoint in words, and 2568 times through the midpoint in Leviticus 10:16, its midpoint in twin words, both of which are found in parasha Shemini , the eight (8th). Incidentally, 2488 is the year Moses died. And as we discussed in the last article, the sum of the gematria sofit of the 13 attributes up to the 8th one is 3339 and 3339/13 = 256.8.

According to the Maharal, “Whenever we find the number 8 used, it is in reference to something that brings one into the spiritual realm;” it’s going one above the limitations of the 7 states ( sefirot) that lead from the 3 levels of the divine spiritual world to the physical one. Thus the equation 504/8 = 63, which gives us the numerical value of Binah (63), the first of the 3 upper sefirot, is by no means a coincidence, and just a reinforcement of the fountain of mazal available to us through these connections.

We know from the Arizal that there are two numbers that connect us to Binah and thus help us to go above our limitations, which is a connection to mazal, 8 and 13, which is why there are 13 attributes and which is one reason the 13 attributes are read during the 8 days of Pesach and are thus connected to Shemini, the 8th. Mathematically, it also just so happens that 33 times the sum of the integers though 13 also equals 3003, just like the first 8 words or 33 letters in the Torah. All Kabbalists know that 91 is the numerical value of the word Amen (” אמן”) which is kabbalistcially represented by the potent unification of the Tetragrammaton (יקוק) with Adonai (אדני) and that through the unifications we get closer to the Creator, what few realize is that 91 is the sum of the integers through 13, or ( 1 – 13) = 91, and we know from chazal that this summing up is equivalent to the accumulative energy and attributes of all that’s inclusive, and thus a more powerful force to be reckoned with.

Of further note, while the mathematical definition of a triangular number gives us (77277)/2 = 3003, more significantly is that of the 1024 different word values in the Torah, there are exactly 77 repeated only once, in other words: Of the 80,000 – (3 x 8) words in the Torah, there are only 77 with unique values, and also as we’ve said, 77 twin pairs. There are no coincidences in the Torah, not even the fact that 8 times 77 equals 616, the numerical value for the H’Torah ( ” התורה” ), “The Torah” itself, or that the gematria ketana, of value 616 is calculated as 6+1+6 = 13, and can be represented as the letters vav-alef-vav, ( ” ואו”), which we know from the Arizal connects us to aspect of the spelled out Tetragrammaton (“יוד־הי־ואו־הי “) at the level of Sag or Binah, the 8th sefira of numerical value 63, just like 504/8 = 63 and just like the sum of integers from 8 to 13, the two numbers associated with mazal/fortune, in other words (8+9+10+11+12+13) = 63, the value of Sag, Binah.

And if we go back to where the portion Shemini started–V‘yhy byom HaShemini” (” ויהי־ביום־השמיני”)–we see that the initials of the first 2 words total 8 and the initials of all 3 words, “And it came to pass on the eighth day” total 13.

And for complete disclosure the sum of the numbers in between them (9+10+11+12) = 42, as in the 42 letters of the 13 attributes through the 12th word, and of course the 42-Letter Name that has the power to channel the mazal when used correctly.

In summation, kabbalists would use this portion, especially the darosh darash (” דָּרֹשׁ דָּרַשׁ”) at Leviticus 10:16 to connect to improving their good fortune and mazal, which we’re told is what the 8 days of Pesach connections are supposed to help us do. The numerical value of 8 as in Shemini, the 8th, helps us to go above creation, which we can read as destiny, and is illustrated by one last divine equation: 8, representing mazal, times the sum of the integers through 13, which represents mazal , the 13 Attributes of G-d and the numerical value of ahava אהבה)) “love” is 91 x 8 = 728, as in the 7 words and 28 letters of the Torah’s very first verse and Creation itself.

And for those that understand, the first letters of the first 8 word of the Torah add up to 28, alluding to Shemini, the 28th portion in the Torah, and spelling out B’ahava vav-alef-vav.(באהבה־ואו”), or “Lovingly vav” at the level of Sag/Binah. Both mazal and love await those that get closer to the Creator and the Torah and through these powerful connections we all have the opportunity to go beyond our destiny.

And so it did come to pass this past 8th day of Pesach, and will come to pass after 8 years as the tzaddikim have advised: B’ahava (In Love). In the end as in the beginning.

Vayikra and all the Secrets of Healing.

The Baal Shem Tov has said that he learned all the secrets of healing though the first verse of this 3rd Book in the Torah, Vayikra. I wish I knew them for I’d surely share them with as many people as I could, but I do understand how he could get them from this verse.

This portion is all about the sacrifice that the Tabernacle priests, (Aaron and his sons) made and should make on our behalf to mitigate and cleanse the guilt of our sins. The portion begins with the 256th paragraph of the Torah, 256 being the numerical value of Aaron, the only person connected with the actual word Moshiach in the entire Torah. And within the first word of the Book Leviticus, Vayikra, is a small (reduced) letter alef, the first letter in the name Aaron, and the first in the Hebrew alphabet.

This is all pertinent to what the Baal Shem Tov of blessed memory learned, because illness is tikune, which means its a form of punishment for some guilt, some transgression in this or some previous life, and when he healed someone, we was in essence making a spiritual sacrifice on their behalf, much as Aaron and priests did when the Tabernacle and Holy temples existed. That’s why the Torah repeats “He will be forgiven” (V’nislach Lo) at the end of all the sacrifices. When a sin is forgiven there is no longer a reason for punishment, and more often than not the punishment is just a wake up call to make someone aware that they have a sin that needs atoning.

We know that it’s all about the alef, whose spelled out value is 111 because there are 111 verses in this portion and there are no coincidences in the Torah. This letter is the tip of the revolving flaming Sword of Hashem (HShM) that brings judgment and protection of the heavenly secrets with each of the 4 arms of the alef extending along a different blade edge. It’s also the 42-letter Sword of Moses (MShH) that brings wonders (PLE), which is spelled as Alef in reverse with Alef at the tip. But that’s not the source of the secrets.

The numerical value of this small alef (ELP) used as elef (ELP) is 1000. And the rest of the word Vayikra (Called) is 216. Now 216 is Gevurah (the sefira of judgment) where according to the Zohar the voice of the shofar hails from, the voice of the shofar that was mentioned in Exodus (Shmot) 19:19 at the giving of 10 Commandments (Utterances) .

Together the 2 components have a gematria value of 1216 and when we subtract 2 for the kolel we get 1214, which is the exact numerical value of both “70 languages” (ShBAYM LShVNVT), and for “permutation of the letters” (ZYRVP HEVTYVT), which is, according to the Zohar, how all those secrets and much more are revealed.

When you understand the connection that you’re making and are in the right consciousnesses and the letters roll the secrets are revealed. We can explain the connections and thus prime the letters for you, but having the right consciousnesses is an individual choice and is only had by doing your spiritual work.

It’s not coincidental that this portion lies shortly before Pesach (passover) when we must work hard to remove all the chametz (impurities/dirt) from our homes/lives. It’s more than Spring cleaning; it’s digging deep within our souls as we clean to unearth (un-leash from malchut) our klippot (negative husks). Ever try to clean computer cables? That’s what we’re like. Our positively charged souls have this baked on grime clinging to it, that we need to scrape and grind away. And as we do that physically, we need to meditate that we’re doing it from all the difficult parts of our lives. Like the illnesses, the difficulties we’re facing now are there to show us what we need to work on and where to scrape for G-d is merciful and gave us many gifts and tools, as we’ll see below.

As the Book of Vayikra begins it’s the first time G-d is speaking to Moses in the Mishkan (Tabernacle), which is normally shielded from him by a cloud. “God called to Moses, speaking to him.” “Vayikra EL Moshe V’Ydaber Adonai.” All the words are jumbled from the normal order that we’re used to seeing in the Torah.

In our recent article, “Sometimes We Forget” we discussed the verse “G-d spoke to Moses,” “V’Ydaber Adonai El Moshe…(VYDBR YHVH EL MShH)” which is in fact the most numerous verse in the Torah and is found 91 times in the Torah, and as it just so happens this is the 91st chapter in the Torah. Yet here these words are jumbled: “Vayikra EL Moshe V’Ydaber Adonai.”

When things are jumbled they are done so to conceal and when things are concealed they are more powerful and more important to us, which is why the dirt of the surface is easy to find and remove but not so much that in the crevices and beneath tables.

In this case, the jumbling also brought the two letter Alefs in the phrase together, side by side or even superimposed, but what actually happens is that “Vayikra EL” becomes combined and has a numerical value of 248, that of rachem, mercy and also of Abraham, whose name also begins with Alef, not coincidentally. This is the mercy (grace) injected into the judgment to bring the healing.

This also why the jumbled phrase ends with “V’Ydaber Adonai,” also of numerical value (248), that of rachem (mercy/grace).

As previously discussed, 91 is the value of the all-important unification of the YHVH with Adonai (YEHDVNHY), the connection between Zeir Anpin and the Shechina, (the female aspect of G-d that pertains to our world), the very connection that Moses makes for us, the bond between Heaven and Earth, and the connection we should be making in our heads when we say Amen.

So as we’ve seen the jumbled phrase Vayikra EL Moshe V’Ydaber Adonai” is structured as 248, Moses (345), 248, and one could say that it’s Abraham, Moses, Abraham. But it’s also Moses, who is Zeir Anpin, in the middle of 2 x 248 = 496, which is the numerical value of Malchut, and thus the necessary unification of Zeir Anpin and the Shechina, Heaven and Earth in order to bring forgiveness and healing.

The Tabernacle was concealed by the cloud. Moses (Zeir Anpin) was concealed within Malchut. Mercy was concealed within Judgment. The cures were concealed withing the illnesses. And the tiny letter alef was concealed within this phrase. As we prepare for Pesach and Mashiach, let’s dig through the concealment and search out every tiny bit of negativity in our homes, lives, and souls.

Amen

By the way, the tiny alef is the alef of Amen.  The first Book of the Torah has 50 chapters, giving us the letter Nun (N) of numerical value 50. The second Book of the Torah has 40 chapters, giving us the letter Mem (M) of numerical value 40. And a we start the 3rd Book, we begin the 91st chapter with the tiny Alef (E) of numerical value 1, completing the backwards (concealed) word NME or EMN (Amen), of numerical value 91, the tip of the sword.

So say Amen and mean it.
