The House of David; The Tide has Turned

From this weeks’ portion, Tetzaveh, Exodus 28:2 “And you shall make holy garments for your brother, Aaron, for splendor and beauty.”

The Torah instructs the High Priest to wear 8 garments, 4 of white linen and 4 containing gold. The Hebrew words for “for splendor is ‘L’kavod‘ of numerical value 62 and for “for beauty is ltiferet of numerical value 1111. Without the prefixes (L) and subtracting the kolel for the 2 words, splendor and beauty together = 1111.

Thus through the singular construct 1111 and the 4 ones(1), the Torah is hinting at a unification. Similarly, the two Lameds (L) with the kolel of 2 = 62, so through the two references to the number 62, this verse and thus the set of 8 holy garments are linked back to the 10 Utterances with their numerous connections to the number 62 and keter (620), as we’ve previously discussed in depth. And by the way, 620/8 = 77.5, a numerographic representation of 5778 backwards.

Please note further that the letter alef of numerical value 1, when spelled out is 111 and thus 10 x alef (111) = 1110, add the kolel (1) and we have 1111.

And we know from Rabbi Chaim Ben Attar of blessed memory as discussed in his Ohr HaChaim that this unification is of the Tetragrammaton YHVH and Adonai, (EDNY), each of which have 4 letters to match the 4 and 4 sets of clothes. He quotes from the Tikunei Zohar: “The four golden garments are an allusion to the four letters in the name Havayah [YHVH], whereas the four white linen garments are an allusion to the four letters in G-d’s name Ado-nai.[EDNY]” Since the YHVH is Zeir Anpin (the bundled 6 dimensions of Heaven), and Tiferet also represents Zeir Anpin there’s no mistaking which attribute pertains to which set of clothes. Together, as discussed in previous blogs, YHVH and EDNY combine to form YEHDVNHY of numerical value 91, the same as amen.

If we take the spelled out value of the 12 letters in Adonai (ELP-DLT-NVN-YVD) along with their kolel we get 683 and if then them add the aspect of the YHVH at the level of Zeir Anpin (Mah), which is (YVD HE VEV HE) of value 45, we get 728, which appropriately is 8 x 91.

But what’s significant for us is that the 8 garments represent the all-important unification that causes our prayers to ascend when amen is said is reply to a blessing. This is what helped the High Priest to obtain atonement for the people. And Aaron, the only person in the Torah whose name was linked with the word Moshiach, was the first to wear these 8 garments and was “The One” the Torah specifically said they should be made for. And we should also note that the breastplate that the magical Aaron wore, and that contained all the 42-Letter name of G-d inside and all the answers in the universe in Hebrew is Choshen, of numerical value 358, the same as Moshiach.

There is deep understanding here.

Moreover, we know from The Divine Calendar that nearly all the significant Biblical dates end in 8 and all include the number 8, including 2018 CE and 5778 HC. We also know that the midpoint in King David’s life, 2889 HC is also the midpoint in the divine calendar from Adam to Moshiach (the messiah) in 5778. We can now understand why: within the 8‘s is the holy unification.

This holy unification, according to the Zohar, is hinted at in the first word (V’ahtah) of this weeks portion Tetzaveh. Rabbi Shimon of blessed memory and the the Zohar further discuss that the unification is the union of Zeir Anpin and Malchut that occurred while the 2 Holy Temples stood and that must occur again in the end of days.

The verse above, Exodus 28:2 refers to 4 garments made of gold and the word for “gold” in Hebrew has the same numerical value as the name David, 14, or 28/2. And when we spell out the name David (DVD) we get the 8 letters DLT VV DLT, which adds up to 434 +12 + 434 = 880, and with the kolel, it totals 888.

Likewise, the first two 7-letter columns of the 42 Letter name of G-d matrix add up to 888. The first column is 471 and the second one is 417 and thus 417 + 471 = 888. The second column though, 417, can be added with its kolel for the 7 letters to get 417 + 7 =424, the numerical value of Mashiach Ben David.

There were Two Holy Temples and the two Houses/Temples, Be’it (BYT) and Be’it (BYT) each have the gematria value of 412 and 2 x 412 = 824 and when we add the kolel for the 6 letters and the 2 words we get 824 + 8 = 832, as in 832 BCE (3338 HC), when the First Holy Temple was destroyed. The number 832 also represents the time frame that both temples stood, 410 and 422 years respectively, which means that the 2 Holy Temples stood for almost exactly 1/4 (24.99%) of the 3330 years (66.6 jubilees years between the giving of the 10 Utterances (Commandments) and the Torah at Mt Sinai and the year the tzaddikim have said H’Moshiach (the Messiah) will arrive in 5778.

In 3338, the Holy Temple was destroyed, setting up the 2nd exile, the 70 years of force rule in Babylonia, but all things in the ancient calendar have their counterpart in the modern one and in 3/3/38 the first oil well was discovered in Saudi Arabia, setting up 70 years of Arab fortune at the expense of Israel and the Jews. Those 70 years ended in 2008, when the price of oil sank 72% and the Saudi investments in Citibank sank even more, along with much more Arab investment and influence around the world.

Something spiritual snapped in 2008, the supernal ministers had changed and by January 2009, Israel was once again able to fight and defend itself with the strength and protection from above with a massively successful incursion against Hamas and with a lopsided victory not seen in years. Instead of videos of Israelis committing what the world called atrocities against the Palestinians, what came out of Gaza were stories of Rachel Amenu warning and saving Israeli soldiers.

The year 1938 brought more than just good fortune and free wealth to the Arab and Persian kingdoms, it brought Kristalnacht as well, the kick-off campaign of the Nazi’s that quickly escalated into the holocaust. That date was 11/09/38 and the square root of 110938 is 333.0 as in the 3330 years from 2448, we received the Torah at Sinai to 5778 when we are supposed to receive H’Mashiach. But as the rest of the world writes it with the day first month second, that date was 9/11. And whether this is coincidence or not, the midpoint in David’s life and in the divine calendar less the spelled out numerical value of David is 2889 – 888 = 2001, as in 9/11/2001

With the shift in the supernal ministries came a new president of the US, the 44th, as in 4 + 4 = 8 and 44= 88/2. And while that is nothing more than a sign for the moment, the shift also brought the forced-by-circumstances confession of Bernie Madoff And even though many of us found ourselves wiped out by him, the truth is they already were, just not on paper yet. With the shifting of the supernal ministers, the internal hemorrhaging finally stopped; Instead of $50 Billion, it could have been $100 billion stolen.

This is not to say that the markets in general won’t continue to decline and that chaos won’t continue to spread throughout all sectors of the world and life, because they will, but certain elements of the world society will B”H no longer enjoy the protection from above that they once did, and others who repeatedly fell victim to them, B’H will no longer be so vulnerable.

The tide has turned. The Sea (H’YM) when spelled out has the numerical value of 666 and the 66.6 jubilee years are almost up.

With the major shift already occurring after the first 70-year period of the final 80, let’s see what the last 10 years will bring. The last time around, Ezra brought home the Jews to Israel, reestablished Torah study and prayer, and rebuilt the Holy Temple, which stood for another 422 years, with 422 being the numerical value for the word “seventy”

The 2nd part of the spelled out word Be’it is YVD TV = 426-2 (kolel) = 424

So if we add the letters in House of David (Beit M’David) spelled out we get 838+ 80 + 880 = 1798 + 18 (letters) and 2 (words) = 1818, which as we’ve discussed in a previous blog was what Rav Abraham Azulai of blessed memory pointed out in Chesed L’Avraham to be the 3rd iteration of the spelled-out letter Alef. This was the same book in which he fingered the year 5760 for the beginning of the final 18 year period.

And let’s not forget the part America play in G-d’s plans as 2 x 888 = 1776, America’s birth date. And 888/44, as in our 44th President = 2018.18

Give Obama credit. He stepped up to the plate. Things are not going as he planned, nor as his supporters planned. And they won’t. The ministers have changed; the playing field has shifted along with them.

Everyone plays a part. With the change in the tide, our part will get easier. But if we choose to ignore our role…

We must step up too.

G-d speaks to Moses and in the first two words of this portion, He says to him, V’atah Tetzaveh, (VETH TZVH), “And You must Command”. And while the gematria value of Tetzaveh is 501, the same as Barack Hussein Obama, and the value of the second word (v’atah) is the same as Be’it, (house or Temple, 412), the value of both words is 913, the same as Bereshit, “In the Beginning).

It is a new beginning. It’s up to us to build the right house.

Chanukah: Eight days of Miracles Designed to Bring Mashiach

It’s as innocent as the child’s dreidel, or the chocolate gelt. Four sides corresponding to the Tetragrammaton (YHVH), but 4 sides engraved with the Hebrew Letters G, H, N, and Sh. Four letters whose numerical value add to to 358, that of Mashiach, the Messiah.

From the games we play to candles we light, the entire Chanukah event is designed to help us bring Mashiach. And that where our consciousness should be. The eight days are a cosmic event not a celebration of a miracle that happened because it occurred during this cosmic event. The light we light each night are to connect us to the special light of miracles available to us once a year for 8 days staring every 25th of Kislev (Sagittarius). It’s different light/energy than what’s available to us in the 8 days of Sukkot-Shemini Atzeret; and it’s different from the light available to us during the 8 days of Pesach (Passover); and it’s different from the energy available to us on the 8 other holidays throughout the year. In total there are 32 days of varying special Light/energy (besides the special light of Shabbat). This connects to the 32 Paths of Wisdom of the Tree-of-Life through which these various light shine unto us.

The oil lasted 8 days because the Light of Chanukah, Mashiach Light lasted 8 days, not the other way around. As soon as the special Light of Mashiach (Or Ganuz) was revealed into our existence, it was hidden. I learned from my teacher that on the first Shabbat of Creation, it was brought out for 32 hours then hidden away for the time of the Messiah. But for 8 days every year we can taste of the Light.

Chanukah Meditations

It appears the purpose of Channukah is to bring Mashiach.

Let’s start with the books of Maccabees dating (for right or wrong) the first war in 3585 HC with the numerical value of Mashiach being 358.

One of the key elements of Chanukah is based on the spiritual tenet that nothing can ever be lost, once it goes from latent(potential) state to physical one it’s ever present in the universe whether we can physically see it or not. So the light of the first night, is added to the second and so forth until the 8th day when we have the light of 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8 = 36 days.

That explained, we can note that the sum of all the Torah occurrences of the words “first” through “eighth”—echad, sheni, shlishi, reve’i, chamishi, shishi, sheve’I, and shemeni—is (189+125+2+2+2+2+0+0) = 322 and since the sum of days (numbers) 1-8 representing all the summary Chanukah lights for the 8 days is 36 , and (322 + 36) = 358. And while 36 is just the result of rounding off the numerical term 35.8, the number 36 to the kabbalists represents the lamed-vav tzaddikim, or 36 righteous souls necessary at all times to maintain our existence in the universe.

The Blessings

The start of all blessings:

When start the blessing with the word Baruch, we need to keep in mind that it has the value (when using the caf sofit) of 708, which is the same as that of the 42 letters of the upper Mem-Bet, the Name YHVH through 3 iterations. This is no coincidence as it is from this Name that the blessings flow through the 6 levels (dimensions) of zeir anpin and into our world. It is also for this reason that the first gate from the Holy of Holies into our world has the dimensions 6 x 7 (the Gate of 42):




L’hadleek Ner Chanukah:

Now regarding the Chanukah blessings on the words L’hadleek Ner Chanukah and the kavanot that we’ve learned from the Arizal, the 3 first letters Lamed, Nun and Chet, spell out in small gematria, 3,5,8 or 358, Mashiach.

The initials in L’hadleek Ner Chanukah (to light the Chanukah candle) spell the word Nachal (a holy Name that means stream or river, and also inheritance) and it has a numerical value of 88, which when aided by a kolel of 1 = 89, that of Chanukah itself.

Nevertheless, the concept of a stream is very important because by lighting the candles with the right consciousness we’re opening a stream of light (the energy of sustenance or shefa) from above into our lives and world. And the inheritance is the Messiah (the Moshiach).

As explained by the Arizal,the secret of 3 letters N, CH. L and Nachal comes very fittingly considering that the gematria of Chanukah is 89, from the 3 words that comprise the 8th and 9th of the 13 Attributes of G-d : “Notzer Chesed L‘alefim.” The Ari further explains that the 8th sefira (level), which is Binah (Imma/Understanding) is where we are drawing this upper light from. and moreover, that a key secret here is that once the 8th level is tapped into, all 3 upper levels (Binah, Chochma and Keter) are at once available to us.

So the first mediation is on opening up the flowing river (Nachal) from Binah, Chochma and Keter though Binah into Zeir Anpin ( the heavenly ladder that connects our world to Binah (the upper world). Zeir Anpin is represented by the aspect of the Tetragramamton (YVD HE VEV HE) called (Mah) of numerical value 45.

We are further told that Mah combines with Binah through the alef(E) in the letter vav (VEV) to the regressively spelled Name Ehyeh (E, EH EHY EHYH) which is associated with Binah and has a numerical value of 44, together they are 45 + 44 = 89, once again the value of Chanukah. This furthers connects us to the 44 (36 + 8 helper/Shamesh) candles lit during the 8 days of Chanukah.

Second Meditation:

The value of the word L’hadleek plus the kolel (1) = (179 +1) = 180, and partially because of this the Arizal tells us to meditate on Av, Sag, Mah aspects of the Tetragrammaton which total (72+63+45) = 180, at this point in the blessing. We’ll explain below what it connects to, as we don’t want to meditate in a vacuum.

Av (YVD HY VYV HY) = 72

Sag (YVD HY VEV HY) = 63

Mah (YVD HE VEV HE) = 45

= 180

Whenever we have a value of 18 or a multiple of it times 10 (sefirot) in the Torah or Kavanot coding, it has the same connection, which as Rabbi Chaim Vittal of blessed memory explains “All Torah Light is spread by squaring,” is that the square root of 180/10, or 18, is 4.2426. This is significant because 424 is the value for “Mashiach Ben David” and 26 is the value of the Tetragrammaton (YHVH).

Now, specific to the Channuka blessing is that the spelled-out (gematria milui) value of the letters nun (NVN) and that of the lamed (LMD) of L’hadleek Ner is also 180, thus giving us yet another connection to “Mashiach Ben David.

From the 18 words of the 13 Attributes again, “Notzer Chesed l‘alefim” meansHe preserves kindness for 2000 yearswhich is a hint that our time of exile for the past 2000 years is coming to a close, and if we add the 18 to it, we get 2018 CE, the year the tzaddikim have prophesied for the coming of the messiah and the final redemption (geula) and also the year 2018 HC the year G-d made his covenant with Abraham, our inheritance (Nachal).

Indeed, the word candle, Ner, has a numerical value of 250 and so the 8 candles have a collective value of 250 x 8 = 2000.

And so when we add the 180 of Av, Sag. Mah to the 180 of L’hadleek Ner plus the kolel of 3 for the 3 aspects of the YHVH, we get 180 + 180 + 3 = 363, the numerical value of H’Mashiach, (the Messiah), which is what we should be mediating on when we recite L’hadleek Ner:

Regarding Ner, the Arizal tells us to combine the Names Ehyeh, Elohim, and Adonai with YHVH on 3 different levels to draw down the light:


If we take the first two letters of each Name (EH, EL, ED), they add up to 6 + 31+ 5 = 42, as in the 42-Letter Name of G-d, (the Shem Mem-Bet, known as the Ana B’koach).

Then if we take the third letter (EHYH, ELHYM, EDNY) in each (YHN) they add up to 10 + 5 + 50 = 65 the numerical value of Adonai (EDNY), which leaves (H,YM, Y) which sum to 5 + 50 + 10 = 65, Adonai (EDNY) again.

The main point though is that the 3 Names represent the 42-letter Name and 130, which is the numerical value of the two synonyms, Sinai and Sulam (ladder). Now the total numerical value of the 3 Names (EHYH, ELHYM, EDNY) is 172, and when we add 1 for the kolel, it’s 173, as in the small gematria numerical value for the 42-letter Name, not surprising as the 42-Letter Name preceded them.

The Ari further explains that at the word Ner in the blessing we should concentrate on combining the 3 Names (EHYH, ELHYM, EDNY) with the 3 simple (YHVH)’s. These 3 YHVH’s add up to 26 + 26 + 26 = 78, the gematria of Mazla, aramaic for mazal, fortune, which we want to draw into our lives when lighting the Chanukah candles. This process mimics the flow of the shefa, (life-giving light) that emanates from the 3 YHVH’s and flows from the Holy of Holies through the Gate of 42 into the Holy Temple and then our world.

Now the main point of the Arizal was that the 6 Names (YHVHEHYH, YHVHELHYM, YHVHEDNY)-add to 250, the value of Ner, candle, but if we add 6 as the kolel, we get 256, which is the value for both H’Aron (Ark of the Covenant) and for Aaron who lit the Menorah as channel for us all.

So when we recite Ner, we want to meditate on the 42 Letter name (the Ana B’koach), receiving mazal, letting  Aaron, the only person in the Torah assigned the title Mashiach, be our channel to light the Menorah in our lives and world.

together with the 6 Names merging together as follows.

YHVH – EHYH (Chochma – Ehyeh)

YHVH _ ELHYM (Binah – Elohim)

YHVH – EDNY (Malchut – Adonai)

We draw the light of blessing down from Chochma to Binah to our world, Malchut.

Now for the full understanding, we take the 3 Names Ehyeh, Elohim and Adonai plus the 3 Names Av, Sag, Mah from the L’hadleek kavanot and numerically add them  (172 + 180) + 6 (kolel for the 6 Names) and get 358, Mashiach

So completing the recitation of Baruch though Ner, we want to have in mind drawing down the light from the Upper 42-Letter Name to the Lower 42-Letter Name though the 3 YHVH’s and into the 3 Names (Ehyeh, Elohim and Adonai) and thus igniting the spark of  Mashiach consciousness in all of us.

The Candle

The candle we’re lighting is the light of the Torah itself as evidenced by the spelled out, gematria milui of the letters (nun-resh) of Ner (candle): (NVN RShY) is (106 + 510) = 616, which is the numerical value of H’Torah, which helps explain Proverb 6:23:

“A mitzvah is a candle, and the Torah is light.”

The Shamesh

The Shamesh, or 9th candle is much more than a simple helper candle.The 9th sefira is that of Chochma, Wisdom. and the unification from above that is assocaited with the 9th sefira is YHVH x EHYH or in numerical terms 26 x 21 = 546, which is the sum of the initials of all 10 sefirot, a clue that this unification helps us draw the energy down through all 10 sefirot.

The value 546 is also the total value of the Names of the 3 Patriarchs whose names began with the letter Yud, which connects them to Chochma (wisdom), the 9th sefira: Isaac (208), Jacob(182), and Jospeh(156).  It’s likewise a connection to Israel, which has a value of 546 when the kolel for the 5 letters is included,

This is an important unification because 546 is the numerical value of koteret, (the incense lit at the inner alter of the Holy Temple) as it says in Proverbs 27:9 “Oil and incense rejoice the heart,” and as the Ari explains, “And the inner altar and the Menorah stood together to give joy to all, as is written.”

So as we light the Shamesh we should meditate to draw down the light through the 10 sefirot and to put joy in our hearts.

And not only does the number 9 divided by the small gematria of the 1st line of 42-letter Name = 73.14159, or extremely precisely 70 + Pi (3.14159..), while the numerical value of the 2nd line is 9 x 9 x 9, one of the reasons the line is utilized in the Shofar blowings of 9 beats each.

So while lighting the Shamesh if you can connect to the first two lines of the 42-letter name keep in mind to lift the world of illusion from the 70 nations, elevating spirituality out of the physicality to bring about Moshiach

The 25th of Kislev

Yet another connection between the kavanot and the words of the blessing is found between the 25 letters of the union of the 6 Names and the value of Ner, 250, since 250/10 = 25, but most important these would be the 25 letters that the Zohar says is missing for the completion of the Mishkan and the 25 words that we know are missing from the completion of the Torah, which is exactly 80,00025 words. It’s also a connection between the 25 letters of the Shma Israel phrase and the 25th of Kislev, as explained by the Zohar.

The next obvious further connection is between the 80,000 words and the 8 lights and nights of Chanukah, since the 4th root of the sum of all the words, letters, and verses of the Torah = 25 exactly. There are also 25 letters in lamed-vav (36) milui.

So note that the 25 letters in the verse “Shma Israel, Adonai Elohenu, Adonai Echad” (Hear O Israel, G-d our Lord is One) is found at Devarim 6:4 and the word Chanukah (ChNV-CH) can be broken down to the two numerical values 64 (ChNV) and 25 (CH), and moreover that the numerical value of the first and last words in that verse, Shma (ShMY) and Echad (EChD) plus the kolel (1) = 410 + 13 + 1 = 424, the numerical value of Mashiach Ben David.

Further to this line of reasoning, and as connected by the Zohar, are the 24 days of Kislev that proceed Chanukah and the 24 letters in the Baruch Shem phrase that follows the Shma Israel phrase.

So on the first night before lighting we should connect to the Shma israel and mediate that we are completing the Torah as in the days of Mashiach.

The OiI

The word for eight (8) in Hebrew is shemonah, and a simple permutation of the letters in shemonah (ShMNH) gives us hashemen. “the oil” (HShMN), and also neshama (soul, NShMH), all of which have the numerical value of 395, that of the 5th word in the Torah, H’Shama’im (the Heavens).

And when we spell out the Shin-Mem-nun root letters of the Oil they add up to 546 that of koteret, the incense again, so once again we must keep in mind (Proverbs 27:9): “Oil and incense rejoice the heart,” and be joyful as we light the oil for that joy will spread through the 10 sefirot and be contagious throughout the world.

The Arizal further explains that the oil in the Menorah and by transference our chanukiyas represents the consciousness of chochma and the incense represents Binah, thus together they are the partzufs of Abba and Imma.

The 8 Nights of Lights

The 44 Candles Sweeten the Judgment

On a simple level, over the 8 nights, we’re lighting 44 candles in total including the shamesh every night, these corresponding to the ordinal value of the letters in Chanukah (ChNVCH), which is 44. It also corresponds to first letters of all 10 plagues, which also add up to 44. So you can see the power to create miracles is built into every aspect of these 8 days.

Moreover, the first plague was blood, dam, also of numerical value 44, and as the Arizal explains “the word “m’damei“, whose numerical value (89) equals that of the word “Chanukah“, is rooted in the letters dalet and mem, which spell the Hebrew word for “blood”. Blood represents the negative powers of judgment, our mission it is to sweeten. Via the 44 (the numerical value of dalet, 4, and mem, 40) lights we kindle throughout Chanukah (including the shammas) and the awakening of consciousness they embody, the kelipot become nullified before us.” Thus with every candle we light, we can sweeten the judgment in out lives and in the world.

And note also that 44 is numerical value of the regressive spelling of the higher name of G-d, Ehyeh, connecting us to Chochma and Binah;

(E – EH – EHY – EHYH)

If our actions of lighting the chanukiya each night rekindle the energy from the night before and culminate in completeness on Zot Chanukah then: On the 1st night we light 1 candle and it stays lit metaphysically for (at least) 8 days; and on the second night we light 2 candles that stay lit, we have a total of 3 lit (rekindled) that second night. On the 3rd night we are lighting (rekindling) 1 + 2 + 3 or a total of six; and so on, until we have 1 + 3 + 6 + 10 + 15 + 21 + 28 + 36 = 120, a familiar mathematical progression that seems to be oft used in the deeper meditations and connections of the Torah, and that we first learned about from Abraham in the Sefer Yetzirah, The Book of Formation.

In the same way, the Shamesh would be 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 = 36. Thus 120 + 36 = 156 or 6 X 26 representing the YHVH, and thus 2 X 78 for mazal.

The Arizal explains that the eight days of Chanukah are, or end up, at the level of hod, the same as a brit whose 8 days expire at hod before the brit can be performed at the level of yesod. Well, considering this, it’s noteworthy that if we assume that all our candles/oil last for 8 days, then in total, we are lighting 120 lights (which would correspond to the 120 permutations of Elohim) plus the 36 lights for the 8 Shamesh that we light, totaling 156, the numerical value for Yosef, who represents the level of Yesod. It’s also the value of Zion.

The 8 Nights of Lights

Now know this for every candle we light below, one is lit above. So for the 156 plus 1 collective one we light each Hanukkah, another 157 are lit above, making 314 in total, with 314 being the numerical value of Shadai (ShDY) and of Mettatron. And that if we consider all the cumulative lit Chanukah lights as a multiple of 8 days: 1 x 3 x 6 x 10 x 15 x 21 x 28 x 36 = 1008 then the 1008 plus1 candles we light, above and below total 2018 candles in all each year in preparation for the Messiah in the year 2018 CE (5778 HC), our inheritance.

And Zion, of numerical value 156, is the same as Yosef, who represents Yesod of Malchut, where the light of Binah ends up on the 8th day and the point where all the divine sustenance funnels into out lives and world. Moreover, Zion, of numerical value 156, is found 107 times in Tanakh and the sum of all the positive integers to 107 is 5778.

Chanukah, a Special Light

The letters of Mashiach (MShYCh) spell out Madlikim Shmona Yemei Chanukah (lighting up eight days of Chanukah).

Chanukah Gelt

Even the parve chocolate gelt we give to our children on Chanukah connects to Mashiach, as the Aramaic word for gelt is Dami (DMY) of numerical value 54, and since 5778 is the sum of all the integers from1 to 107 and 5778 = 107 x 54, then 54, and thus Dami (Gelt), plays yet another role in connecting all of us to the coming of H’Mashiach, B’H very soon

The Menorah is a gift to the worthy.

The Ari in writing about Chanukah explains that the Menorah was made miraculously when Moses threw a kikar (measure) of gold into the furnace and prayed to G-d to fashion it. It immediately emerged fully formed. This further connects the Menorah to the sefira of chochma, which is like a gift bestowed upon a person worthy to receive it.

So bring joy to your heart and joy to the world this Chanukah and help bring the gift of Mashiach into our lives.

The Secret of Water: Water is life, Water is King, G-d is in the Water

It had rained for 2 days straight and with the flood water rising in my backyard, I was reading the Zohar on parsha Noach last night, and not surprisingly there are many insights there into the nature of water.

What is in the water we drink? How long can we go without a glass of water. When we fast on Yom Kippur and Tish B’av what are we depriving ourselves of, restricting from. Is it just from our physical desires?

Genesis (Bereshit) 7:4 “And it rained upon the earth for 40 days and 40 nights…”

From Exodus (Shemot) 24:18 ” And Moshe entered into the midst of the cloud…Moshe came to the cloud where Elohim was…Moshe was on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights.”

What was so important about there being 40 days and 40 nights? If the Torah had told us only about 40 days or 40 nights we would have inferred the other without a second thought.

Why was there a front side 40 and a backside 40?

Both the rains the clouds are comprised wholly of water, the essence of life. Moreover, they are both water from above, from on high if you will.

Mayim, water is spelled MYM which each mem (M) having a value of 40, a front side 40 and a backside 40.

In between the two mems (MM) is the letter yud (Y), which mimics the actual physical construction of the water molecule, H2O, two hydrogen atoms and one Oxygen one in the center. If we assume a divine plan to life, then we can assume that the HOH is spiritually connected and represented by HVH, the Hebrew equivalent. And then if we add that to mayim, MYM, we get MEM (MM) and YHVH, the Tetragrammaton.

Now it just so happens the the letter Mem (MM) in gematria sofit (final letter) is 640 and YHVH is always 26, so (MM and YHVH) can very well equal 640 + 26 = 666. And thus 666 can be the symbol of life giving waters of Hashem (God).

Moreover, the spelled-out letter Mem (MM) has the ordinal value of 26, again that of the YHVH, the ineffable Name of G-d.

The actual molecular structure would be M(YHVH)M, and it would help explain why there is no physical life without water.

Why is the very first thing we learn after hearing that “G-d created Heaven and Earth” in Genesis 1:1 that in Genesis 1:2 “He hovered above the waters?” We can write endlessly as to what this means, but the 21st word in the Torah is “the waters, ” mentioned even before “the Light,” stressing its importance.

This would also explain the extraordinary similarities between water (MYM) and KIng (MLC), both of which have the numerical value of 90, and the ordinal value of 36, which together are each 90 + 36 =126, which is also 126 = 3 x 42, as in the 42-Letter Name of G-d (Shem Mem-bet). another secret of 126 is that it is also 100 + 26, or the value of keter, the highest spiritual level and 26, the YHVH.

Moreover, the gematria atbash (reverse alphabet cipher) of water, MYM is YMY, is of numerical value 60, while the gematria atbash of Melech, king (MLC) is (YCL) or 60 as well. And the small (gematria katan) value of each is also the same, 4+1+4 = 9 = 4+3+2. And similarly in E’bG’d gematria, where each letter is switched for the next highest ordinal value letter, the values of the two 3-letter words become 50+20+50 = 120 = 50+40+30.

And while there are other similarities we’ll just note that the gematria of both words is also 400+100+400 = 900 = 400 + 300 + 200, with 900 being the value of the final final letter in the Alef-bet (alphabet), Zaddi, who also has the value of 90, which as you recall was the original simple value of both water and king.

There are no other word pairs with such similar spiritual structures, and of course, Hashem is known as the King, the King of Kings. In kabbalistic spirituality, the more alike something is in form the shorter the distance between them and the stronger the ties/bonds between them. Between King and Water there’s very little distance, one hovering above the other.

But back to water itself, If we spell out the letters in mayim, we get MM, YVD, MM whose simple value is 80 + 20 + 80 = 180, which is 10 x 18, and 18 is the value of the the Hebrew word, chai, life, and thus symbolizes life throughout the 10 dimensions (serifot). Life from water! And it’s no coincidence that the square root of 18 is 4.242640, or Maschiah Ben David (424), YHVH (26) and 40.

And while the mem-yud spelled out has the value (100), that of Keter, the crown, the highest sefira/dimension, the final mem (MM) can be thought of as the 40 days and 40 nights.

So knowing that G-d (YHVH) is in the water and that water is connected to the highest spiritual level and purity, what do you think happens when we contaminate and pollute our water? What spiritual message do you think that is sending to the universe? Wouldn’t that be figuratively like throwing (G-d forbid, Has v’shalom) garbage at G-d. So what does that say about us and our readiness to receive the Mashiach, the Messiah.

When we restrict from drinking water in our fasts, we are reminding ourselves how important it is to have G-d, Hashem, in our lives, how our sustenance and survival is dependent upon it. But of course, we must understand why we are restricting before we can reap the benefits. There have been may scientific tests that show water is indeed sensitive at the structural level to different energy (vibes). So rather than restricting a couple days of years, let’s restrict the whole year from negativity, from polluting the waters of the earth physically and spiritually. Like attracts like; like below is above. Moses attracted the Clouds-of-glory. Noach’s generation attracted the devastating flood waters. The erev rav got 40 years in the desert for their lack of faith. And our generations? We invented acid rain. We need to do better.

The word “the heavens,” H’Shama’im, the 5th word in the Torah (Bible), contains the word water (mayim). Is that a coincidence too? Mayim (water) is repeated twice within the first 2 verses of the Torah, in the 5th (H’Shama’im) and in the 21st word, the waters H’mayim. Together, 5 + 21 = 26, the value of the YHVH. Together the numerical value of the full two words is equivalent to that of H’Shechinah and to “The KING, a complicated concept that in simple terms refers to the integration of the male and female aspects of G-d and the universe in harmony, the mutual giving and receiving in purity. Numerically, it’s 395 + 95 + 26 (kolel for the ordinal; word value) =516, the number of times Moses needed to pray in order to bring H’Mashiach, the Messiah.

Now here is another deep secret, a deep Bible code if you will. In known by chazal that the waters that split the Red Sea (See of Reeds) were programmed to do so since the dawn of creation. The first mention of water in the Torah is in the word H’Shama’im in the Torah’s 1st verse. The letters for water (MYM) are the 19th, 20, and 21st letters in the Torah, and the 3 verses of the splitting of the Red Sea, the 3 sequential verses of 72 letters from which the 72 Names of G-d are derived, are Exodus (Shemot) 14:19, 20, and 21.

As it was in the beginning, G-d hovers above the waters. The waters are a powerful direct connection we have to G-d; let’s use them in a positive way, in the pure way they were meant to be used. And let’s bring about the Moshiach in our generation.

The Torah  gives us a final clue to how we can help purify the waters again, physically and spiritually, and that is found int eh number of times the word water (mayim) is found in one form or another in the Torah.  It’s found 173 times and 173 is the small gematria value of the 42-Letter name of G-d, (the Shem Mem-Bet, also known as the Ana B’koach).

Vayetze: Sometimes One Word Says it All

What does the word Vayetze tell us?

We know that the spiritual essence of the assorted Torah parshot (portions) are found in its first verses, and sometimes in its first word.  It’s not for nothing that very high level righteous souls (tzaddikim) gave them their appropriate names, and we’ve already discussed how important a name is for us and how we can use them for our spiritual advancement. It is a spiritual tenet that the seed energy (and thus complete blueprint) for anything, whether it’s a tree or a Torah portion, is included in its beginning. Why do you think the Torah begins with the words “In the Beginning?” The 28 letters of the Torah’s first verse house the blueprint for all 5 Books.

Vayetze means “He went out,” but before we explore that, let’s see what the gematria ciphers reveal about the word, because these are the access codes to get into the more secure areas of the cosmic website address “Vayetze.”

The first verse of the Torah portion Vayetze, Bereshit 28:10, is the 784th in the Torah and 784 = 28 squared (or 28 x 28), 28 being not only the number of letters in the Torah’s first verse, but also the number most associated with the year 5778.  Indeed, there’s reason to believe that the actual date is 5778.28, as per the book, There’s Nothing Random in the Universe.

Nonetheless, the value of the first word in the verse, Vayetze (ויצא) is 107 and we know that because nothing physical is ever really lost, the true spiritual value of 107 is the sum of all the positive integers through 107, which is 5778. Moreover, the א alef in Vayetze, ויצא  is the 3778th in the Torah.

If we permute the alef in Vayetze to Yacov (jacob) and the י yud of Yacov to Vayetze, we get יויצ and אעקב, and since we know from chazal that the עקב in Yacov is the word for heel, which he was holding when he was born (the heel of Esau) and that this reflects the generation of the heel (of Adam), which is our generation, the bottommost and last one, we can now find a clue in that אעקב (עקב) adds up to 173, the small gematria value of the Shem Mem-Bet מ״ב, the 42-Letter Name of God (אנא־בכח Ana B’koach).  And the יוי now has the value of 26, that of the Tetragrammaton, which is waiting on top of the ladder (סולם) in Jacob’s famous dream 2 verses later.

There is only one paragraph in this portion, and it encompasses the entire portion, # 63 and we know that 63 is universally associated with the 2nd aspect of the Tetragrammaton (סג) (יוד־הי־ואו־הי ) of numerical value 63 and it represents the פרצוף partzuf of Binah (understanding). To a kabbalist like the Arizal that says it all, and he went on a lengthy discussion of the reasoning that Jacob had to marry Leah first and then Rachel in order to draw down the energy from Binah in the proper order, back-to-back with Jacob who represents Zeir Anpin. But you can read his commentary for yourselves. This blog is all about shedding and shining new light for you.

There is only one other portion that has a single and entire paragraph associated with it and that’s Miketz and paragraph number 77, the numerical value of מזל mazal, fortune, which Jacob finds in that portion when he interprets Pharaoh’s dream.  Seeing as there are no coincidences in the Torah, the Torah must be telling us that these two portions are connected somehow. If we add the numerical value of the word Vayetze to Yayehi the first word of each portion, plus the 2 for the kolel of the 2 words/portions, we get 107 + 31 + 2 = 140 = 63 + 77, so there is a definite connection between Jacob going out and Joseph becoming King of the world (more or less). It is the connection between Binah consciousness (understanding) and mazal.

And the point cannot be lost that both these portions begin with dreams, the two most famous in the Torah. An understanding of kabbalah and the structure of the tree-of-life reveals that Joseph is a reflection of his father, Jacob, both of them pivotal central column elements on the trunk of the tree, and that what one did reflected on the other. A few secrets about the central column structure are in order here. First, the first letters of the upper three positions on it Keter-Daat-Tiferet (associated with Jacob) add up to 424, the numerical value of Mashiach Ben David, the Messiah.  And the bottom 2 positions Yesod (associated with Joseph) – Malchut, add up to 50, representing both Binah (as in the 50 gates of Binah) and the jubilee year. Together, all 5 central column positions (sefirot/dimensions) add up to 474, the numerical value of Da’at (knowledge), the place we want to access when we go out of ourselves.

Now, while the concept, as explained by the Ari, of the jubilee year (7 X 7 +1) is embedded in both the portion vayetze and Miketz through the 7 by 7 years that Jacob toiled to earn the right to marry Leah and Rachel and through the 7 by 7 fat and lean years in the dream of paragraph 77, the YM sofit combination also has a numerical value of 610, that of מעשר  Ma’aser, tithing. This concept of tithing first comes up in this portion of Vayetze, when in Bereshit 28:20 Jacob makes a deal with God to tithe to Him if He’ll watch over him on this journey.  And so we see Jacob’s work and journey to/from לבן Laban lasted 21 years, one-tenth (1/10th) of the 210 years that the Israelites, Jacobs’ descendants, had to spend in exile in Egypt. This concept is further emphasized by Jacob’s statement that Laban reduced his wages 10 times. In a sense, Jacob’s tithe made the end of the exile possible, exactly 66.6 jubilee years before the prophesied arrival of the Mashiach in 5778.

The mention of 10 multiple times in the portion causes us to look back to the first 10 letters (seed level) of the portion and we find as before Vayetze Yaacov followed by MB (מ״ב). Interesting, because all the significant journeys in the Torah are divinely governed by the mem-bet (42). And the sum of those 10 letters plus the kolel of 10 is 341, the numerical value of the 3 Mothers (EMSh). as spelled out in the Sefer Yetzirah, whose cyclical ordinal value is 101, as in Michael (the archangel protecting Jacob), the same as the יצא in Yayetzeיצא). Thus the verse can be read Michael and Jacob journeyed. The 3 Mothers, the 3 primordial letters of creation also correspond with the 3 elements (speckled, spotted, and flecked) and in the odd story where Jacob used 3 types of branches to control nature and change his fortune, but that’s a much deeper secret for those that understand.

So how do we go out, make our own mazal? Tithing is one way and many other answers were provided in The Genesis Prayer, but one important gateway through which flows the living waters, as we’ve sited in previously posts, is hinted at in the words ויצא־יעקב Vayetze Yaacov of numerical value 107 + 182 + 1 (kolel) = 290, which is that of the Resh-Zaddi (רצ) pair at the very center of the 42-Letter name of God. It is also the launch point for Jacob’s ladder (סולם) on which the angels ascended and descended, as explained in that same post (Living waters), 2 verses later.

Jacob worked hard, made a vow to God, kept unwavering faith, and used the spiritual tools of kabbalah; in other words, he went out of his comfort zone. He stepped out of the illusion of reality, out of the illusion of being a victim, and into Binah consciousness. There’s nothing Jacob did that we can’t do today. By trusting in God and taking the initiative, we have everything we need to create our own mazal. But we must take a clue from Jacob; the first thing he did was go out. Like Jacob, we must let go of the physical illusions, take the leap of faith without looking back,and then to the hard work. Not the other way around. Don’t toil and struggle first and then ask God why the results aren’t there. Results from hard work alone only happens for those not on a spiritual path, because their results are all on the physical plane and their path goes in circles. If you’re on a spiritual journey, you need to do the steps in order and to take a clue from the Bible and all the Bible codes, you must begin your journey with the mem-bet, the 42-Letter name of God.
