The Ten Commandments, Part II – The Gates Open Through a Tiny Word.

In the first installment in this series of articles on the Ten commandments, we established that they were linked with Keter, the highest sefira (Dimension) of all 10 dimensions of the Tree-o-life, and that beginning with the encoding in its first 3 words, “I am God, your Lord” they further link our generation to the 3rd opportunity to receive the Tree-of-life reality in the next few years.

As for the 2nd time that cosmic window opened, it was 66.6 jubilee years ago, when G-d chose to recite the 10 Utterances.  The first time occurred a total of 115.6 jubilees years ago. To understand that you must be able to think of time as fluid and space as collapsible, and reality as we know it as an illusion. In other words, you must be able to perceive the tree-of-life reality that was offered to our ancestors back in 2448 HC, 49 jubilee years after Creation .

In the 20th chapter and 54th Paragraph of Exodus (Shmot/Names), 600,000 Israelites and 4 times as many erev rav (known as the the people) stood poised at Mt Sinai.

This was after the Zohar tells us Moses received the 173 Keys to Heaven (the 42-letter Name); after the rectification of the 10 sefirot of the Tree-of-life through the 10 plague, as explained by the Arizal; after the tools of the 42-Letter Name (Mem-Bet) and the 72 Names (Ayin-Bet) were given to Moses and the Israelites when they cried out to G-d; after they split of the Red (endless) Sea; and after they completed the cleansing process through the appreciation, tshuva, and tools embedded in the “Song of the Sea,” the Israelites were ready to receive the 10 Utterances directly from G-d, thus completing their ascension to Keter. That was the plan.

Keter

The 10 Utterances are found at chapter 20 in parsha Yitro of Shmot (Exodus) and the letter Yud (Y) of numerical value 10 is a direct substitute for the number 10 in the 10 Utterances (Commandments).  Moreover, the letter Yud (YVD) when spelled out has the numerical value 20, the same as the chapter the 10 Utterances are found in. This is significant because the number 20, esrim, has the numerical value of 620, that of Keter, the crowning, hightest sefira (dimension). Moreover,Yitro (YTRV), Moses’ father-in-law, not only begins with the letter Yud–actually the only one of the 54 Torah portions to begin with Yud–but it has the gematria value of 616, the same as H’Torah (the Torah). And when we add the kolel of the 4 letters we get  616 +4 = 620, or Keter once again. And that’s just the start.

Two Moments in Time Linked Together through a Single Window

That there are 9 verses spanning paragraphs 54 to 62 of Shmot (Exodus) is no coincidence. Readers of this blog know by now the formulas of the sum of positive integers through 107 = 5778; and 54 x 107 = 5778, the year the tzaddikim prophesied for the arrival of Moshiach and the geula (final redemption); and also that the surface temperature (radiance) of the Sun, representing the King and Zeir Anpin, is 5778 K, while its core temperature is 156 million K, with 156 being the gematria value of Joseph, representing Yesod of Zeir Anpin.

But what hasn’t been revealed yet is that the numerical value 54 is found 156 times in the Torah and that the Name Dan (DN)–the initials that Abraham’s Sefer Yetzirah (The Book of Formation) says would lead to Mashiach–of numerical value 54, is found 26 times, corresponding to the value of the Tetragrammaton (YHVH). And consequently that 54 + 156 = 210, as in the 210 years of Exile in Egypt that just ended prior to the 10 Utterances.

And as most students of Torah know that the Torah is divided in 54 parashot (portions), so this being paragraph 54, coupled with the value of Yitro’s name,  is most probably a hint that the whole Torah is about to be received, not just a few commandments to behave civilly.

The number 54 also has the distinction of being half of 108, the numerical value of the infamous golden calf.  The reason that this connection is so significant will be revealed shortly. And since the number 107 is integrally associated with 5778, and thus the reception of Moshiach, that 108 is 1 beyond it, is significant as well. Nevertheless, for the moment it’s important to note that the first letter on the 10 Utterances is the 107007th letter in the Torah, or looked at another way, 107 x 1000 + 7 (representing Keter (1000) and the 7 sefirot of Zeir Anpin).

And for its part, 62, as in the 62nd and final paragraph of the 10 Utterances, it is the key to understanding what is really going on in the section. For starters. there are 62 letter Yuds, of numerical value 10, within these 9 paragraphs. Now, the letter Yud (Y) is the first letter of the Tetragrammaton (YHVH) and is associated with the level of Chochma (wisdom), the 9th and 2nd highest sefira (dimension), and those 62 Yuds have a total numerical value of 620, that of keter (crown), the highest sefira, the place the Israelites had reached as G-d spoke to them.  This also means the Yuds reprsent exactly 1/10th the letters in the 10 Commandments.

But the icing on this keter cake is found in that there are 620 letters in these 9 short paragraphs.

Moreover, the sum of the ordinal values of those 620 letters works out to 11 x 620 + 1 (kolel), making the 10 Commandments also representative of the full 11 sefirot, when the balancing or reservoir of knowledge sefira (dimension), Da’at, is included.

And of the 10 Utterances, 8 really begin with the word Lo (LE), “don’t,” which is EL (G-d) backwards and these 8 words total 248, the value of Abraham, of mercy, and of the Earth’s reflected radiance back to the sun (248.5 K), but also 248 = 4 x 62. Obviously, this small 620 letter section of the Torah is quite special and unique.

Let’s talk about this word Lo (LE), meaning “don’t, because it is so ubiquitous amongst the 172 (132+3) words and 13 verses of the 10 Commandments. It’s found a total of 13 times, connecting it to the concept of Oneness (Echad) and love (Ahava), whose Hebrew translations have the value 13.

There seems to be a pattern developing as the numerical value of Lo (LE) is 31, or 13 reversed, its ordinal value is, well, 13.

Now in verse Exodus 20:6, where it says, “I show love for thousands of generations,” the words for love and thousands both contain the prefix Lamed, making both words actually begin with LE: (LEHBY, L’ahavi and LELPYM, L’alaphim).

This phrase Chesed L’alaphim is actually at the heart of the 13 attributes of G0d and both the Zohar and the Arizal translate it to G-d will show mercy for 2000 years, as we’ve previously written about.

With these 2 additional Lo (LE) and 3 others that are concealed at the beginning of various words in these 13 verses we have a total of 18, which is universally knows as the value of Chai (life).

Now, the sages tell us that the final letters point towards the future and in summing up the gematria of the final letters in 18 words that Lo (LE) appears within the 10 Commandments we get a total of 2028, which is significant because we know that 2018 CE (or 2028 – 10 (kolel for 10 Commandments) is the prophesied year 5778 HC.

And also because 2028 breaks down to 2000 + 18 + 10, reminding us of what the Arizal and the Zohar said about 2000 years amongst the 18 words of the 13 attributes. We can now more fully see the connection between the 13 pure Lo (LE) and 18 total Lo (LE) with the 18 words of the 13 attributes of G-d, in this the 20th Chapter of Exodus.

And if we add the two other words in this 620 letter section of the Torah that begin and end with L and E respectively, (LShVE, lashav) then the full 20 concealed Lo (LE) total 20 x 31 or a perfect 620.

Everything in the Torah has a purpose, both a revealed purpose and then multiple layers of concealed ones.  We can look at the 10 Commandments as moral compasses or we can look at them as gateways into the 10 dimensions of the Tree-of-life.  For 66.6 jubilee years (3330 years) most of us have seen them as moral guides, it’s time to really accept them.  28 generations ago we were invited in and the people replied that G-d was too loud for them.

And by the way, in case we missed it, the 28 generations was the The Divine Calendarhidden meaning behind the reference to 2000 generations, which is one of the reasons why Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai (author of the Zohar) and the Arizal recognized it as 2000 years, but, of course, they knew the Divine Calendar and knew when the 2000 years would begin and end.

So just to wrap us this part of the series, we should note that when we add 1 for the kolel to the 172 words in this section, we get 173 words, which not only hints at the 42-Letter Name through its small gematria value of 173, which are incidentally the 173 keys given to Moses, but taking the letters of the section over the words gives us 620/173 = 3.58, and 358, as we know, is the numerical value of Moshiach, the messiah.

This is what we can receive when we enter the 10 Commandments, instead of just follow them (very important too).

Lo (LE) is tied for being the shortest word in the Torah, but through this small doorway a vast universe awaits.  The Hebrew word for heart is very similar Lev (LB). Just because one translates into English as “don’t”, don’t let yourself be deceived by the illusion that one doesn’t stem from the other and LE is at the heart of Keter from where the love flows.

And then to complete the picture, the 13 verses in this section further links it to the 13 times that words with a numerical value of 173 appear in the Torah. Every wire in this section is very much alive and burning bright.  Let it burn bright in our hearts as well.

The 10 Plagues, Then and Now.

The Hidden Message in the 10 Plagues

It’s mandatory to celebrate Passover (Pesach) every year and recount the story of the exodus, including the explicit listing of the 10 plagues.  Why? Is it just so we don’t forget? Wouldn’t it be better to instead concentrate on the 10 miracles G-d performed for the Israelites on their way to receiving the 10 Commandments and the Torah?

A most common form of Torah analysis performed by the sages is to examine initials of key word groupings, phrases, or verses.  The sum of the nominal value of the initials in the 11 words that comprise the 10 plagues is 541, the numerical value of the name Israel, which is not only the last word in the Torah, but Israel was arguably formed out of the end of the exile immediately precipitated by the 10 plagues, especially the last plague, the killing of the firstborn, whose initials are Mem-Bet.

Mem-Bet is not only the  42-Letter Name of G-d, profoundly associated with the time of redemption, but it is named justly because it has the numerical value of 42, as in the 42 places the Israelites traveled through on their way out of Egypt to the Promised Land. It is also aligned with the journey every process must take through the 42 letters of the 11 sefirot.

The first letter of the 40 letters in the 10 plagues is dalet, with the numerical value of 4, as in the number of letters in Tetragrammaton and in the Name of G-d, Ehyeh, the Name used in “I am that I am.” The first plague, dam, blood, is spelled dalet-mem, which is numerically 4 plus 40 or 44.

The deeper secret is in the blood.   The first plague is Dam (Dalet-Mem), whose initial is dalet.  The initial of the last plague is Mem, thus the whole 10 plagues can be collapsed in abbreviated form into Dam (Dalet-Mem), the first plague. Not only does eth letter Mem, complete the word dam, but it in effect encompasses and represents the full 40 letters in the 10 plagues, because of its numerical value, 40.

Please note that that also means that there are an exact average of 40/10 or 4 letters per plague, the numerical value of Dalet.

We use the word encompasses because the final mem is not only shaped like a closed womb, but according to the sages it is supposed to represent one as well, and if we subtract the numerical value of dam (blood) from that of Da’at, the 11th and balancing sefira, we get 474 – 44 = 430, both the numerical value of nefesh, (the animalistic or lower part of the soul), which the sages tell us is housed in the blood, and also the number of years the Jews were in exile through the end of the 10 plagues.

Blood is also a fitting metaphor because from the womb flows both the blood of judgment unto the Egyptians, and the mercy to the Jews in the birth of the Israel.

We know from the sages that the Passover passage out of Egypt was about Da’at, the serifa of balance and knowledge, and also that Da’at was represented in the Dalet of Dam, the first letter of the first plague.   Furthermore, Dalet, when spelled out, has the numerical value of 434, while da’at has the numerical value of 474, leaving a difference of 40 between them, the numerical value of Mem, showing us that the full word dam, blood, is included in Da’at.

It’s all about Four (4)

While many of the significant mandated elements of Pesach (Passover) including the 4 questions, the 4 cups of wine, the 4 sons, the  4 aspects of the Tetragrammaton and the 4 letters in it and also in the name Eyheh, we been told by the sages that they correspond to the 4 exiles.

The first plague, blood, is spelled Dalet-Mem, with the first letter having the numerical value of 4, and the next letter having the value of 40, or 10 x 4.  Meanwhile, not only does the first letter of the last plague, the killing of the first born, also has the value of 40, but there are 40 letters in the 10 plagues, making 4 the exact average number of letters per plague.  And while the final letter of the 10 plagues is 400 or 10 X 40, the second plague, frogs, has a numerical value of 444, or 4 X 111, the numerical value of Aleph, the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet.

Moreover, the 4 letters of the Name Ehyeh, (EHYH)—the Name revealed to Moses just prior to the plagues–can be expanded through progressive method– sometimes called squaring–to  (E, EH, EHY, EHYH), which is numerically equivalent to 44, the same as dam, blood, the first plague.

The connection to 4 for Pesach and the 10 plagues at the end of the 1st exile is interesting because 10 is an extension both numerically and spiritually of 4. Numerically, the 4th triangular number has a value of 10, just as 10 is the sum of the first 4 integers, as in 1+2+3+4 = 10.

Spiritually, both the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton and of the Name Eyheh when expanded by spelling them out have 10 letters each.   Moreover, as we mentioned earlier,  Passover is about da’at, which begins with the letter Dalet, of numerical value 4, while da’at is a sefira or dimension that combines the dimensions of Chochma and Binah, whose initials’ numerical values of 8 and 2 add up to 10.

So in a sense we see the 10 plagues extending throughout the 4 exiles, for a total of 40, as in the 40 letters in the 10 plagues, which is yet another reason it’s mandated we read the haggada and review all the plagues, etc every year throughout the various exiles.

The plagues didn’t just happen 66.6 jubilee years ago, they’ve been reoccurring continually throughout the 4 exiles in one form or another.   As for the first plague, dam, blood, there have been many times in these past 3330 years when tens and even hundreds of thousands have died and rivers of blood have flowed.

The 10 Plagues were Planned at the Beginning of Time.

While the 11 words of the 10 plagues correspond to the 11 unique letters in the first verse of the Torah, the first 4 letters of the Torah have an ordinal value of 44, the same as Dam, the first plague.

The next 2 letters, completing the entire first word of the Torah, Bereshit, “In the Beginning” have an ordinal value of 32, as in the value of the 4 components of the letter Aleph, connecting as we’ve discussed in other articles to the 32 Paths of Wisdom that define the structure of the universe and that house the 10 sefirot (dimensions).  When we add them together, we get numerically 76, or the fully expanded Tetragrammaton at the highest level of Av (chochma), but alphabetically they spell out Aleph-Dalet-Mem, or Adam(ELP).

Adam represents the start of Jewish soul, the source of which, as we’ve written about in other articles, is in the primordial Aleph that exists before the Torah, and dam, or blood, represents both the flesh and the flow of the lower soul (nefesh) throughout time, throughout the generations.

With Aleph as the source, we can note that the 11 initials of the 10 plagues have an ordinal value of 100 and if we add 11 as the kolel to 100 we get 111, the numerical value of the name of the letter Aleph(ELP). And once again we can connect with the primordial Aleph before the Dam (first plague) to get Adam

There is yet another analogy connection between the letter Aleph, whose 4 component letters (Y,V,V,Y) sum to 32, and the 10 plagues, and moreover to the initials of the final plague, Mem-Bet, as provided by Rabbi Chaim Vital of blessed Memory. The eminent sage explained that the 10 sefirot (dimensions) plus the 32 Paths of Wisdom that link them together form the structure of the greater universe and together they comprise the 42-Letters of the 42-Letter Name, the Shem Mem-Bet.

As explained in detail in The Genesis Prayer, the first verse of the Torah is where the Shem Mem-Bet, or the 42-Letter Name of G-d, is derived from, and if we take the sum of the numerical values of the initials of each of the 7 words of that first verse, which is 22—obviously representative of the 22 normal letters of the Hebrew alphabet—and add it to the ordinal value of those same 7 letters, which is also 22, we get 44, once again, the value of the first plague, dam, blood.

Incidentally, and again as discussed in detail in The Genesis Prayer, the first verse of the Torah is integrally connected in multiple ways to both the numerical value of Mashiach, the Messiah, 358 and to the mathematical constant PI to an astounding precision, and one of the simplest ways is through the average value of those 7 letters, 22/7 or 3.14.

Now, if we think this is coincidence we need only examine the full first 10 letters of the Torah and see that the sum of their ordinal values equals 100 (keter, the crowning highest dimension), the exact same 100 as the sum of the ordinal values of the initials of the 10 plagues.  Moreover, as mentioned earlier, the sum of the nominal value of those same initials is 541, the numerical value of the name Israel, the last word in the Torah.

The process of gematria computation allows us to subtract the kolel, as well as add it, and though I rarely use that approach, in this case if we subtract the sum of he ordinal values from the initials of the plagues (100) from the sum of their numerical values (541), we get 541 – 100 = 441, which is not only the numerical value of emet, truth, an allusion both to the Torah and to the 42-Letter Name of G-d, but it is also 212, or the square of the numerical value of the higher Name of G-d, Ehyeh.

Since the initials of the final plague are Mem-Bet and since the sum of all the initials of all 10 plagues (11 words) is 541, the numerical value of Israel, one interpretation is that the 10 plagues and 42 places lead to Israel.   Another is that it will take 10 plagues, corresponding to the 10 sefirot (dimensions) and the Mem-Bet to reach the final redemption.

The sum of the first 9 plagues is 499, the numerical value of Tzva’ot, another of the Biblical Names of G-d; therefore, yet another possible interpretation is that we need to go through 9 sefirot (chochma) and the utilize the Shem Mem-Bet to break through to the level of Keter.  The sages are quite clear that the 10 plagues correspond to the 10 sefirot and that the final one is at the level of keter(crown), but we can also see the word Keter (Caf-Tav-Reish) within the permutated letters of the final plague: Memcaf-tav   Betcaf-vav-reish-vav-tav Permutes to Tav-Vav, Caf-Vav,  Mem-Bet Caf-Tav-Reish.

Since Caf-Vav is 26 and an appellation of the Tetragrammaton, and since Tav-vav is the spelling of the last Hebrew letter, Tav, representing Malchut, which is our physical dimension, the lowest of the sefirot, we have the Tetragrammaton (26) and the Shem Mem-Bet helping us get from Malchut to Keter.

In addition, Mem-Bet Caf-Tav-Reish spells out Israel (YShREL) in gematria atbash (reverse alphabet cipher)

There are, of course, many deeper secrets and other possible interpretations here.

There are normally 41 letters in the 10 plagues with 41 being the number of letters in the name full Name Ehyeh spelled out, but In the Torah the word for beasts (or flies) is never spelled with the “vav” as it is in traditional Hebrew, leaving us with 40 letters.

The 11 Letters of the 10 Plagues and the Final Redemption

If we include the vav as is customary in most hagadahs, the sum of the 10 plagues using gematria sofit is 5546.  And 546 is not only the sum of the initials of the 10 sefirot, but moreover, 5546 + 232 = 5778, the year preordained for the manifestation of the Tree-of-life reality, with 232 being the sum of the 4 aspects of the Tetragrammaton.

As we’ve noted extensively in The Divine Calendar, the dates The Divine Calendarof the Exodus in 2448 HC, the Final Redemption in 5778 HC and the fulcrum point of the Gregorian Calendar in 3760 HC are all integrally connected and aligned, so it’s no surprise that the sum of the 10 plagues in standard gematria equals 3290, and when we add the ordinal value of the 40 letters in the 10 plagues, 468, we get 3290 + 468 + 2 (the kolel for the 2 elements of the equation) equals 3760, or 26.26 jubilee years after the Exodus.

Interestingly enough, the two initials of the last plague, the killing of the first born, are Mem and Bet and if we were to add the value of the missing vav (6) mentioned above to the 352 times that the initials Mem-Bet appears sequentially in the Torah, we’d get 352 + 6= 358, the numerical value of Mashiach, the Messiah.

Furthermore, if you sum up the square roots of each of the 10 plagues, utilizing gematria sofit, which gives special values to the special 5 final letters, and add the square root of 232 you get 314….

In one of the sage’s prophecies it says. “Like the days you left Egypt, I will show you wonders”.  This in reference to the final redemption.

According to the sages, Moses’ staff was engraved with both the Shem Mem-Bet (42-Letter Name) and the 72 Names of G-d, which are derived from the three consecutive 72 letter verses that narrate the crossing of the Red Sea (Sea of Reeds), were engraved on Moses’ staff and used in the splitting of the Sea.

Moreover, if we take the initials of the first and last plague together, we get Dalet-Mem-Bet, which is possibly connected to the 65th of the 72 Names of G-d: Dalet-Mem-Bet.

There are 11 unique letters in the first verse of the Torah, corresponding to the 11 spices of the Holy Temple and there are 11 first letters of the 10 plagues, which we can permute to spell out both the representative initials of the Shem Mem-Bet (the 42-letter Name) and the Ayin-Bet Shemot (the 72 Names) and more. These 11 letters can be permuted to form:

Echad (E,Ch,D)

Mem-bet (M,B)

Ayin-Bet (A,B)

Shaddai (Sh, D, Y)

Nun (N)

once the Tzaddi is broken into nun and yud. It’s said by the sages that in the time of Mashiach, the Messiah, the Tzaddi will split into Nun and Yud, then the Yud will change direction to facing forward) and then reconnect.

The significance of this is that they spell out Echad, One, as in “G-d is One;” Mem-Bet, as in the 42 Letter Name of G-d and the 42 places the Jews journeyed through on their way to Israel, and then Ayin-Bet, as in the 72 Names of G-d, both of which were used to split the Sea of Reeds according to chazal; and Shaddai, the Name of G-d that appears on all mezuzot and that starts of the mathematical constant Pi: and finally the letter Nun, whose numerical value is 50 as in the 50th Gate, which chazal say the Israelites were at before crossing the Sea of Reeds; also as in the 50 times the Exodus is mentioned in the Torah; as in the 50 days from the Exodus to the reception of the Torah at Mt. Sinai, as in the 50 component letters used to construct the 27 letters of the Hebrew alphabet; as in the length of the biblical jubilee year (50 calendar years) used to reckon the arrival of H’Mashiach, and as in the value of the Hebrew word for “Sea”.

In many senses the 10 plagues were a cleansing of the Jewish and world soul, the nefesh housed in the blood, in preparation for the reception of the Torah 50 days later.

The Hebrew year 5778, the year given as the year of the Final Redemption, is 2018 in the Western calendar and 50 years earlier, one jubilee year, was the year 1968, the year of Revolution.  It’s no coincidence the Beatles’ song Revolution came out that year.  1968 was the year the Vietcong launched the Tet Offensive and the world witnessed the My Lai Massacre; the year the Warsaw Pact invaded Czechoslovakia to crush the Prague Rebellion; the year of Black Power demonstrations in Howard University, the Mexico City Olympics, etc; the year of student protests in Poland and Germany and Tlatelolco Massacre of the students in Mexico; the year the French Governments was brought to the brink of revolution under siege by the student protests; the year of the Cantonsville Nine war protest and student war protests in universities all over the US;  The year the war protesters clashed with the Chicago police outside the Democratic National Convention; the year Martin Luther King was assassinated and the riots that followed; the year Robert F Kennedy was assassinated; the year Nixon became president; and the year the Gold Standard was legally dropped and the dollar decoupled from gold, sealing the fate of the US economy; and finally the year Saddam Hussein took power in Iraq, setting us up for where we are today, ironically (coincidentally) mired in yet another Vietnam.

32 Years before the 2000 millennium, the year of Revolution began the final jubilee year, the last of the 66.6 jubilee years from the Exodus to the Final Redemption, the last of the 40 jubilee years from 3760 (0 CE) to 5778.

The “Book of the Wars of the Lord.”

A lot happened in Parsha Chukath, and it all has to do with the so-called end of days, the next 9 years.

Right after G-d tells Aaron and Moses about using the Red Heifer for cleansing, Miriam dies in Parsha Chukath in the beginning of chapter 20, the 137th chapter in the Torah. We know that the 137th chapter is significant because 137 is the value of Kabbalah “to receive,” and since 137 is 1/73, the value of Chochma (wisdom), it means “to receive wisdom.”

And with Miriam’s passing, so vanishes the well that sustained the Israelites in the desert, which results in Numbers (Bamidbar) 20:08 G-d revealing to Moses and Aaron how to get water from the cliff (rock). He gave Moses a staff (rod) and told them to speak to the rock. Instead, Moses struck the rock twice and water gushed forward. But because he didn’t speak to the rock as instructed, neither Moses nor Aaron was allowed to enter Israel, which prevented the Tree-of-Life from taking root there. In verse 20:09, Moses picks up the staff and begins the process that ends with G-d saying in verse 20:12, “You did not have enough faith in me.”

The Israelites were in the 40th and final year of their journey from exile to the Promised Land, in Kadesh at the time, the 33rd place of the 42 journeys that took them from exile to freedom. Kadesh, whose numerical value is 404, has a square root of 20.09… and the total numerical value of all those 33 places is exactly 15,000, with 9 more journeys to make in that final year.

After the incident with the water, the Israelites request that Edom allow them to pass through using the King’s highway and they were denied, so the Torah dizzily takes us through the final 9 places, skirting Edom, and through the battles the Israelites fought and won. These were part of the “Book of the Wars of the Lord,” and they highlighted the defeats of the King Sichon, and his city of Chesbon in particular, and of King Og. The action was interrupted to recite the Song of the Well, and the Song of Cheshbon.

Just before the battles with Sichon, after Aaron dies and after they defeated the Canaanites, doubts overtook the Israelites in the final moments, just as it happened at Mt Sinai. The first time, G-d withdrew the tree-of-life and immortality from them, and this time He sent them venomous snakes. G-d then gave Moses the antidote, a copper snake that drew the judgment out of them when they gazed upon it. We know that both the snake and Moshiach have the same gematria and that they are opposite sides of the same coin. Thus when the evil inclination overtook them, G-d let them taste the tree-of-knowledge of good and evil, so that they could once again appreciate the tree-of-life and know the difference.

So lets see what’s really going on here. The numerical value of “speak to the rock” is 848 or 2 x 424, the numerical value of Moshiach Ben David, which may explain help to why Moses struck the rock 2 times. Another reason has to do with Adam eating from the tree-of-knowledge twice, and the 2 times Moses had to carry down the tablets, as will be come more apparent later in this article.

For some reason square roots play a big part in understanding this portion, and thus we find that 8.48 is the square root of 72, as in the 72 Names (Triplets) utilized in splitting the Red Sea (Sea of Reeds) and derived from the 3 verses of 72 letters that describe that splitting. Since Moses staff played a part then too, and both incidents concern water, this connection to the 72 Names is probably meritorious and the Names were probably used here as well. What’s more, as this entire portion is about the final years leading up to the geula and to Moshiach, the 72 Names will probably play a part then as well.

In preparation for understanding this portion we should also note that the numerical value for the phrase used in the Torah “Water from the rock” (Ma’im Min Hselah) is 345, the same as “Moshe” (Moses).

One major hint as to what is going on in this portion is that the gematria sofit (final) value of Sichon (SYChN) is 778 as in 5778, suggesting that the battle-filled 9 final journeys of the Israelites final year might indeed refer to the 9 final years from 2009 – 2018 (5778 HC). And strengthening that line of thought is the structure of the word Cheshon (ChShBVN), where Sichon is found, in which we have the numerical value of Chet (Ch) being 8 and the other 4 letters being 358, that of the word Mashiach (Messiah). Keep in mind that according to the tzaddikim, the figurative brit (milah) of Moshiach will take place in 5778, after 8 years, in the same way that a brit milah occurs for a baby boy after 8 days.

The portion begins oddly as well, and we know that any oddities in the Torah were purposely included to draw the attention of the tzaddikim and the Torah scholars. After the usual “G-d spoke to” the Torah says “that the following is declared to be the Torah’s decree as commanded by God,” which in Hebrew is Zot Chukat H’Torah Asher Zah YHVH L’Emor Daber (TzET ChKT HTVRH EshR ZVH YHVH), or 2160 in total numerical value, and 2160 is 10 times the value of the word for awe (216), the necessary attribute for reaching the Tree-of-life. Moreover, we know that whenever anything in Torah is exactly 10 times a known numerical value, it usually means that it is inclusive of all 10 sefirot (dimensions). In this case, it is also not coincidentally 10 times the numerical value of the sefirot of Gevura, representing spiritual judgment, and of the 216 letters in the 72 Names (Triplets) of G-d.

The word, Zot, of numerical value 408, according to the Zohar is a reference to the time of Mashiach, and also refers specifically to the 408 letters missing from the 600,000 composite letters in the entire Torah (599,692). The value 408 is also .666 of 612, the value of the word Brit, Covenant, as in G-d’s Covenant with Abraham that took place in 21018 HC.

The word, Chukath, is composed of ChK and T, employing that same KCh, of numerical value 108, as the word for “take” in the phrase “Take the staff (rod),” used to channel the water. 108 is also the numerical value of the “golden calf,” the second sin—Adam’s was the first—to cause Man to lose the Tree-of-life reality. And just to be clear, 108 is also 2 x 54, the numerical value of the “staff” that Moses used to strike the rock, and since “water from the rock” is and allusion Moses (345), he struck himself (and Aaron).

Reading of The Divine Calendar know the extreme significance of the number 8 in terms of Biblical dates and the timing for the arrival of the Moshiach, but the letter Chet, of numerical value 8, when spelled out without the yud, has the spelled-out word value of 408, as in Zot. Moreover, using that particular spelling, the spelled out value of the 3 letters in the word Chukat (ChKT) is exactly 1000, an allusion to the crowning and highest sefira (dimension) of keter, and also to the completion of the Tree-of-Life in that all 1000 = 103 meaning all 10 dimensions are completed within the perfectly balanced 3 column structure of the universe.

Nevertheless, the first 4 words of this odd phrase, “that the following is declared to be the Torah’s decree,” add up to 2019, when the kolel for the letters is subtracted, and 2019 is the first year that the tree-of-life reality is supposed to be in effect. This interpretation is strengthened by the presence of the word Zot that begin the phrase, and whose square root is 20.19

Now, the next four words of the odd phrase can be split into 2 pairs, TzET ChKT and HTVRH Esh. The second pair can be read as Rosh H’Torah (Head of the Torah), and the numerical value of the first pair, TzET ChKT, is 916, that of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, the author of the Zohar, which together makes a powerful statement whose timing was concealed within the gematria and purpose was signaled by the cryptic word Zot.

Now, as for the “Book of the Wars of the Lord” which is Hebrew is B’Sefer Milchamot Hashem (BSPR MLChMT YHVH), while the first 7 letters total 420 in value, the first of the 3 words, B’sefer, has an ordinal value of 54, same as the value of the rod.

And as we’ve discussed in previous articles 54 is not only the timing frequency (54 beats/minute) that the human brain functions at, but it is the measure of the double cycle of the 27 Hebrew letters and moreover it solves for the equation 107 x 54 = 5778, where the sum of the positive integers through 107 also equals 5778.

The numerical value of the “Book of the Wars of the Lord” (BSPR MLChMT YHVH) is split into the first 2 words of numerical value 860 (or 10 x 86, the value of the Name of G-d that reflects spiritual judgment, Elohim) and the Tetragrammaton (YHVH) of numerical value 26. Together they add up to 886, plus a kolel of 2, which gives us a value of 888, recalling what we said about the number 8.

And if you doubt the connection, please note that the sun of the values of the spelled out letters plus their kolel in the word Moshiach (MshYCh) is 888.

Observing the letters in the “Book of the Wars of the Lord” (BSPR MLChMT YHVH) we see that there are 13 letters centered on the central letter Chet, once again. And adding the 1st and last letters, and working inward to the central (Chet), then summing their square roots give us 66.652, as in the 66.6 jubilees years (Biblical mandated 50 year intervals) from the reception of the Torah in 2448 HC, when we last stood at the foot of the Tree-of-life to 5778: (BH, SV, PH, RY, MT, LM, and Ch)

The 52 in 66.652 can signify the level of the Tetragrammaton known as Ban, and referred to as Malchut, the bottommost dimension of manifestation. 52 is also the numerical; value of the phrase’s initials (BMY), which can also stand for the 42-Letters of the Name of G-d.

If we peel off the letters of each word, starting with their initial we get BMY, etc we’re left with 4 triplets and the letter Tav (T), which as the last letter in the alef-bet indicates finality and the level of malchut. Then if we add up the square roots of each of these 4 triplets we get 42.3 plus .1 for the kolel and we get 424, the numerical value of Moshiach Ben David: (BMY, SLH, PChV, RMH and T)

How do we know to permute the letters in this fashion? Because we are told by Rav Ashlag that in the Zohar Shlach Lecha #289, the Mashiach, as did Daniel, permuted the famous letters in Daniel 5:25 MENE MENE TEKEL UFARSHIN in just the same way. “G-d has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to the end…”

Whether we divide the letters in pairs of triplets, the two letters left out Chet and Tav, interestingly enough for the letter Chet (ChT) once again, or numerical value 408.

As for the initials of B’Sefer Milchamot Hashem (BSPR MLChMT YHVH), they connect to phrase recited during the highpoint of the Amidah prayer connection Baruch Cavod YHVH Mimkomo (G-d is in his Everlasting Place), whose initials are BCYM, and also to the 42-Letter Sword of Moses hidden within the Song of the Sea, whose initials also begin Mi Camoka Belim YHVH (MCBY), recited just before the Amidah. That these initials sum up to 72 is significant as the two tools necessary to fight these wars will be the 42-Letter name and the 72 Names (Triplets). In case you are wondering the Caf is the complimentary letter to the Tav (T) in Milchamot.

The wars described in the final journeys of the Israelites will be repeated in one form or another within the next 9 years, and the torah is warning us as to what will happen. As hinted at in the name of King Og (AVG), the last 9 years of the final 70—Ayin(A) has a numerical value of 70—will be split into two parts, the 3 years—Gimmel(G) has a value of 3—and the final 6 years—Vav(V) has the value of 6. This means that for 2009 there will be a break at 2012, probably when Amalek (doubts) take hold in earnest after the Mayan illusion, and the wars will continue for 6 more through 2018. Recall that it was in verse 20:12 that G-d says, “You did not have enough faith in me.”

Regarding those doubts, the last time we stood to receive the Tree-of-life, the Israelites weren’t able to wait the final 6 hours for Moses to return from upon Mt Sinai with the two tablets of the Torah of Moshiach and receive immortality. And in Chukath, we see again that they couldn’t wait until the final end of the 40 years in the desert before complaining, and yearning to return to Egypt.

Doubts were always their downfall and have always been ours. While the Israelites defeated the Canaanites and the Amorites, they never defeated the Amalekites, who kabbalistically represent their doubts because the Hebrew word for doubt (Sofek) and Amalek have the same numerical value. And this is the greatest war of all, for it will determine who receives the geula (final redemption) and who reaches the tree-of-life, and conversely, who stays behind again in the world of the tree-of-knowledge of good and evil.

According to the Baal Shem Tov, the spiritual significance of the red heifer that begins this portion is to help us cleanse ourselves of our ego, which is at the root of our doubts, and which we know will be all the more important for us to do as the days of the final redemption approach over the next 9 years.

Why Are You Crying Out to Me?

The Book of Exodus in Hebrew is Shmot, Names, and that’s really all we need to know. In Shmot 14:15 G-d replies, “Why are you crying out to me? Mah Titzak Elai (MH TZAK ELY)?”

That’s what G-d replied to Moses and the Israelites when they stood at edge of the Endless Sea (Yam Sof) with the 600 Egyptian chariots at their backs. Not a very compassionate response, as would appear on the surface. Yet somehow Moses knew exactly what he was being told and what to do because moments later the sea split about and the Israelites were saved. So let’s see what G-d really said.

Mah Titzak Elai (MH TZAK ELY)?

To begin with the 4 letter word TZAK splits in two the Name ELHYM, Elohim, much as G-d split the Red Sea in two. All of a sudden, things are starting to make some sense, since Elohim is the Name of G-d that represents nature, or the natural cause and effect world where our actions cause a chain reaction of events and where once G-d sets things in motion, He doesn’t intervene, giving man the sense that he’s in control to a certain extent. This is the G-d that Pharaoh recognized, not YHVH or EHYH that Moses knew.

And certainly, Moses knew that the Mah in Mah Titzak Elai referred to the Tetragrammaton YHVH at the level of Mah, zeir anpin, and that this is the level the Israelites needed to be thinking in to outwit them.

And reinforcing that are the initials of Mah Titzak Elai (MH TZAK ELY) which spell Emet (EMT), truth, which is known to represent Torah, Tiferet (Zeir Anpin), and the 42 Letter Name, which begins with E (alef), ends in T (tav) an has 40 letters in between.

We know from the Zohar that Moses was given 173 keys to Heaven, and Heaven is Zeir Anpin and that the Shem Mem-Bet (42-Letter Name matrix) is both Zeir Anpin and can control it, and that the small gematria value of the 42 Letters is 173, so we know Moses knew all about the Name engraved on his staff and how to use all the letter combinations on it. So let’s look at that Name for a moment and see what Moses saw in his hands:

The very last column of the 42-letter matrix has all 4 letters of Titzak (TZAK) in it, and the full sofit value of this column is 2480, the same as the sum of the 5 Names of the 5 Books of Moses, or 10 x 248, the gematria value of Abraham and also of Rachum (compassion/mercy).

And the 3 letters not utilized, Shin (Sh), nun(N), and gimmel (G), the 3 letters of Goshen (GoshNah, GShNH), where the Israelites lived while in Egypt, and when we add 5 (corresponding to the letter hey, H) for the 5 letters in Elohim we get both the full name (GoshNah, GShNH) which as we’ve pointed out in a previous blog adds up to 358, Moshiach, and to the 4 letters on the Channukah dreidel.

But what Moses also saw as he looked at the first 2 lines in the 42 letter Names was:

He saw the word TZAK spelled out before him with an added Resh (R) in between. And he knew not only knew that Resh (R) has the numerical value of 200, as in the simple progressive iteration of the Name Elohim (E, EL, ELH, ELHY, ELHYM), but there were 9 letters in G-d question Mah Titzak Alai? And there are 9 letters through EBG YTZ KRA, with the remaining 5 letters adding up to 216 as in the 216 letters of the 72 Names (triplets) that were also engraved on Moses’ staff and that according to the Zohar he called upon to help split the endless sea.

Before we explore what else Moses saw in G-d’s words, we should note that we can be sure Moses made these self-same connections because according to the Arizal, the 4th plague, the horde (Arov) corresponding to the sefira of Netzach (Victory) has the numerical value of 272 and is similarly broken down to the same iteration of Elohim (200) and to 72, in order to overcome the evil at that level.

And that it is no coincidence that the 72 Names (triplets) are derived from combining the three 72 letter consecutive verses found 4 verses after G-d’s reply to Moses in Exodus 14:19-21 or that 14+14+14 = 42 either. Or that these are the very 3 verses that describe the actual splitting.

Nevertheless, Moses, who insisted Joseph’s bones be at his side would have also known that through the end of the Book of Genesis the Name Elohim was mentioned 156 times, corresponding to the numerical value of Joseph, leaving 72 more times through the end of the Torah, including 42 times between Genesis and Deuteronomy, the Book he scribed himself, for a total of 228 times, corresponding to the numerical value of Etz Chaim, the Tree-of-Life, and of baruch, blessed.

So there we have 3 of the 4 elements Moses used to split the sea all neatly laid out for him by G-d, just as it is today for us: Joseph bones (or righteousness), the 72 Names and the 42-Letter Name. And the 4th element is also hidden within this Elohim schematic.

Since the 42 Elohims are contained within the 72 Elohims after Genesis and Joseph, we are not only left with 30 in Deuteronomy (Mose’s portion so to speak), but we’re given a hint to look within the 72 Names for the Mem-Bet (42-Letter Name).

And sure enough 5 (corresponding to the 5 letters of Elohim) of the 72 Names contain the letters Mem-Bet (MB): the 14th, MBH; the 55th, MBH; the 61st, VMB; the 65th, DMB; and the 70th, YBM. And this tells us a lot.

The value of the 5 names together is 240, that of Amelak (the endless scourge of the Jews) and the numerical value of the word doubt, which is exactly what the Israelites needed to overcome to reality the state of the tree-of-life reality necessary to split the sea. The 4th element was certainty. Not only did they, and do we, need the tools and the knowledge how to use them, but the certainty that they will work for us, that the Red Seas and obstacles in our lives are just illusions waiting for us to see beyond.

Moreover, the 5 letters in the 5 Names MBH, MBH, VMB, DMB; and YBM that were included with the MB’s, spelled YHVDH (Yehuda) of numerical value 30, as in the 30 times Elohim is mentioned in the 5th Book, the Book associated with the sefira (dimension) of malchut (kingdom) and manifestation, and the 42 times the simple name YHVDH (Yehuda), also associated with Malchut and manifestation, appears in the Torah.

So when G-d answered him “Don’t cry out to me” He was telling Moses that you have all the tools in your hands to do it yourself and Moses knew what he needed to do to manifest the tree-of-life reality and split the endless sea when he followed G-d Subsequent instruction to stretch out his staff over the sea.

And if we could see all that Moses saw, we’d also see that he knew he could use the first 9 letters of the 42-letter (Shem Mem-Bet, Ana B’koach) in a novel way (as illustrated and explained in depth in The Genesis Prayer) to create that split by dividing the number 9 by the small gematria version of those 9 letters = 9/.123049027 = 73.141595779 = 70 + PI (the mathematical constant that defines the physical structure of the 3 dimensions, by bending straight lines into circles), with the number 70 corresponding to the 70 branches of the tree-of-life.

And if you think this is preposterous, you really need to read There’s Nothing Random about the Universe; but nevertheless, note that the 5 location of those 5 Mem-Bet Names within the 72 Names (14, 55, 61, 65 and 70) add up to 265, which, as described in that book and in The Divine Calendar, is the 3rd triplet in Pi: 314159265358; the 4th triplet being 358, Mashiach; the 1st being 314, Shadai, the 2nd being the small gematria value of the 42-letters of the upper 42-Letter Name. Moreover, the sum of the two middle triplets is 159+265=424, the numerical value of Mashiach Ben David.

And as you ponder the endless sea (Ym Sof) that begins with 3.1415..keep in mind the 3 verses of 72 letters and that G-d’s encrypted reply to Moses and the Israelites was found in Shmot 14:15.

And the 5 Names within the 72 tie into Joseph’s bones as well.

If we multiply the numerical values of each of the 5 Mem-Bet Names within the 72 Names by their ordinal location within the 72 Names and take the square root of their sum, we get 113.1415… = 110 + Pi, in other words a reference to the 110 years of Joseph’s Life and the mathematical constant Pi again, and actually to G-d’s powerful 3 words at Shmot 14:15.

Moreover, the sum of those 5 names with their ordinal place within the 72 Names was 240+265 = 505, the numerical value of Sarah, the Matriarch, which Moses knew and which we’ve previously have shown in other blogs to be connected to H’Moshiach (the Messiah).

And Moses saw himself.  The numerical value of those 5 Names is 240 and their ordinal value of the 15 letters in the 5 Names is 105, so that 240 + 105 = 345, the numerical value of the Name Moses (Moshe, MShH), the same as the 5th of the 72 names, MHSh.

The 5 names are the 5 pronged crown of the 72, containing the 5 Mem-Bets and within Yehuda (YHDVH), the Tetragrammaton (YHVH).  And from Yehuda descended King David (David H’Melech) and thus Mashiach Ben David, whose arrival we hope to bring about through the proper understanding of these Names and the splitting of our own Red Seas.

In Shmot 15:6 during the “Song of the Sea” and alluding to Joseph of numerical value 156, it says “Your right, Hashem, is glorious in power; Your right hand, Hashem, has dashed the enemy in pieces.” The Zohar explains that the hand refers to the 5 fingers/sefirot (Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach and Hod) and Joseph corresponds to Yesod, completing the 6 sefirot/dimensions of Zeir Anpin, hinted at in the phrase Ma Titzak Elai (Why are you crying our to me?)

But, hey, that’s just what Moses saw, why should we want to see the same thing?

Because when we find ourselves crying out to Heaven and to G-d, and he answers us “Why are you crying out to me?” we’d better be ready to understand all the wisdom and love that he’s packed into that answer for us. Otherwise, we’ll be stuck between the Egyptians and the sea.

G-d wasn’t just talking to Moses, or his generation. He was talking to us. It’s time we carefully learn about the tools and build up our certainty. We’re going to need them.

If you examine the 72 Names array of 8 columns and 9 rows carefully you’ll see that there are only two Names that contain side by side triple crowns (tagins), one is at column 5, row 7, and the other at column 7, row 8: 577, yet another on hundreds of connections to the year 5778 that the tzaddikim prophesied for the arrival of Mashiach, 66.6 jubilee (Biblical 50-year interval) years after the splitting of the Red Sea in 2448.

Today, we are in the year 2009 CE, 5769 HC, with 9 years to go you do the math, especially since the numerical sum of those 4 letters in Titzak (TZAK)
plus 5 for the 5 other letters that spelled Elohim and 1 for the kolel = 666.

Also, for what it’s worth the sum of the gematria atbash values for the 9 letters is 577 as in 5778.
