The Shot that should have been Heard Around the World.

Last weekend, we mentioned that the events of last week had profound repercussions for the world, mankind, and that the battle had begun. We weren’t prognosticating the crashing world markets, or the advent of phase II of the global economic crises, but given what we’ve learned from the 10 Commandments, it’s not surprising.

Last Thursday, on the death-anniversary of Joseph HaZaddik, one of the most powerful zaddiks (righteous souls) of our generation was assassinated. He was one of the lamed-vav, one of the 36 righteous souls that act as pillars to support our world, Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira.

Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira, the grandson of Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, known as the Baba Sali, was stabbed to death on Thursday night in Be’er Sheva while he was hosting guests for consultation at a yeshiva near his home.  That he was murdered on 7/28, that he was murdered in Be’er Sheva, that his assailant was 42 years old, and that Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira was born in 1948, like Abraham Avinu and the Nation of Israel, were not coincidental.

If you recall your history books, World War I started because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo, 1914.  A single event, a single murder led to death and destruction of millions.

And even more to the point, recall that before Al Queda attacked the United States on 9/11, he and his Taliban cohorts, assassinated the charismatic leader of the mujahedin in a preemptive move to seriously weaken any US retaliation.

Immediately following the assassination of Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira, we have  experienced the physically unrelated mass resignation of Turkey’s secular military chiefs and their subsequent replacement by those appointed by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Islamic party.  We’ve also seen a heightened ruthlessness on the part of the mid-east dictators to stamp out their democratic uprisings. And it’s only been a week.

It’s notable Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira was murdered in Beer Sheva as we wrote last November about how Beer Sheva would be connected to the geula in a significant way, and about how the prophetic Torah coding about this was found in the 63rd paragraph of the Torah.

It’s notable that the Rabbi, who was born the year Israel was founded, born to protect Israel, was mysteriously murdered at the age of 63, 7 years prior to the fulfillment of the prophecies in 5778 (2018 ce) in Beer Sheva, the 7th well, and 7th largest city in Israel and site of the Israeli IDF victory over the Egyptians in the 7th Month of 5708 (1948) .

Most of the news sources say he was 70 years old, which could make sense if it were true, but it does show the power of illusion, of the limitations of the Tree-of-Knowledge reality, to misdirect our thoughts. Yes, he should have been 70 and he would have been in 2018 (5778) when he would have helped shepard us into the Tree-of-life reality.

As all the tzaddikim of blessed memory, he will help and guide us from beyond, but as per the purpose of the preemptive strike against him and us, and just as the evil Al Queda did to us before 9/11, our work will now be that much more difficult.

Yes, the murderer was just some deranged man, but who gets into the head of the deranged? Make no mistake, it will be a battle to establish the tree-of-life reality. It’s only been a week, and look what is happening to the world financial markets. Don’t forget, the first phase (wave) of this economic collapse was heralded with a 5% 777.78 drop on Erev Rosh Hashanna 2008.

As for gematria, Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira is traditionally and kabablistically known as Elazar ben Meir, the gematria of which is 611, that of “Torah,”a hint to his status of pillar, our support.

The 70 Nations Are Going Down; The Battle Has Begun

In a brief continuation from Fish, Fowl, and Nuclear Radiation, Symptoms, Not Signs, we’d like to add a couple insights from this week’s short 67 verse Torah portion, Tazria, and the corresponding teachings of the Arizal enlightenment.

Binah, the sefira (dimension) of understanding, one of the upper 3, has the numerical value 67, which is the first clue that this portion contains some important hidden “understanding” for us.

Let’s first note that the portion begins with and is all about the uncleanliness (spiritual impurity) that resulted from the snake’s intimate relations with Eve, which created the separation of Jew and Gentile souls and the admixture of good and evil in Eve’s womb. That said, we once again are faced with the battle of good vs evil in the power of the Cohen (HCHN) vs the plague (h’negah, HNGA).

As we said in our ultimate article about the events playing out this year around the world, the symptoms all point to problems in the critical sefira of Yesod of Zeir Anpin.

On the side of good we have the Cohen(HCHN), of standard numerical value 80, the same as Yesod (YSVD) gematria, and of complete gematria sofit value of 777, as in 5777 (2017 CE).

On the side of evil we have the plague (NGY) of numerical value 123 and ordinal value 33 for a complete value of 156, the same as Joseph whose energy is associated with Yesod.

Now, according to the Arizal this battle is played out by the dark angel Samael, who we showed to be connected to the current events, and who is in charge of the supernal princes of the 70 nations, and by Michael, who is guardian of Israel and who presides over the 70 sages of the Great Assembly, corresponding to the 70 souls of Jacob.

The good news is that the word for the Cohen(HCHN) is found 57 times in this portion, up to and including the 107th times this word is used in the Torah, and as we’ve written about extensively, the sum of all the positive integers through 107 is 5778. And note that HaCohen is the only word in the Torah tied to the word Moshiach, the Messiah.

The word for plague (negah, NGA) is found 13 times in this portion, and 13 is the numerical value of love, ahava. Together the occurrences in this portion of the Cohen(HCHN) and plague (negah, NGA) are found 70 times, connecting this battle to the epic one that has already begun.

If we look at the word for plague in this portion with all its prefixes, such “the plague (HNGA)” and “and the plague (VHNGA), there are 31 more, making 44 in total, as in Dam, blood, the first of the 10 Plagues in Egypt.

However, 44 occurrence of “plagues” and 57 of “the Cohen” total 101 together, as in the numerical value of the archangel Michael, the angelic personification of chesed, all that is good.

What is this plague? The Torah was referring to a condition that existed only while the Tabernacle and Holy Temple existed. Today it might refer to any number of afflictions.  The only thing we know is that Fukushima Daiichi continually spewing toxic radiation into the atmosphere cant be good, and that the fish and bird kills are both symptoms of what ails us and signs that our environment is not healthy.

The Arizal explains that 70 years is the maximum number of The Divine Calendaryears of suffering that an individual can be decreed.  If we extrapolate that to a Nation we see that the Babylonian exile of the Jewish nation lasted exactly 70 years and that the year 5778 (2017-18  ce) will be the 70th year of the Israeli nation, formed in 5708 (1948 CE).

The upheaval throughout the Mid-East and the dethroning of their rulers is because the 70 supernal princes are falling one by one.  As above, so goes below.

The spiritual concept of time is a more spatial one and therefore 7 days, 7 years and 70 years are all cut from the same cloth, so when this portion also speaks about the baby boy transcending the 7 days and being circumcised on the 8th, the tzaddikim understood this to mean the 7 years of the birth pangs of the Moshiach and the fulfillment of his brit (Covenant) in the 8th year.

7 years from 2011, when the nations started falling, is 2018, and ironically, it was in 2018 HC that G-d made His Covenant with Abraham, 70 years after he was born.

The Power of the Shema Israel, Part I

The deeper the secrets, the more important they are. The Shema Israel prayer is the most well known and widely recited Jewish prayer, yet most people recite it without a clue to its many secrets.  When I completed The Genesis Prayer on the Ana B’koach (42-Letter Name), my teacher advised me to write about the Shema, but I never did get around to it, besides a lengthy comment here and there in the blog, so here is part I in a series about the Shema, which we will, bli neder, complete over time.

Today, I’d like to reveal a few secrets about the initial 6 word refrain that begins the prayer in order to give us all the kavanot (or directed consciousness) when we do recite it, and to reveal why it is recited so often.

But first, I’ll let Aisha Torah give a brief introduction, and by all means please read the rest of their article on the Shema Yisrael — “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One” — is perhaps the most famous of all Jewish sayings.

“The Shema is a declaration of faith, a pledge of allegiance to One God. It is said upon arising in the morning and upon going to sleep at night. It is said when praising God and when beseeching Him. It is the first prayer that a Jewish child is taught to say. It is the last words a Jew says prior to death.

“The Talmud says that when Jacob was about to reveal the end of days to his children, he was concerned that one of them might be a non-believer. His sons reassured him immediately and cried out, “Shema Yisrael.”

“The Torah records Moses including the Shema in his farewell address to the Jewish people.

“We recite Shema when preparing to read the Torah on Sabbaths and festivals. And we recite Shema at the end of the holiest day of Yom Kippur when we reach the level of angels.

“Shema is contained in the mezuzah we affix to the doorpost of our home, and in the tefillin that we bind to our arm and head.”

Now, as for those six words:

Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One

As you may have noticed there is a large letter Ayin and Dalet in the first and last of the 6 words, which should have made all of us take notice of these 2 words in particular, but as my teacher’s teacher often said, what is least noticed is most important.

The first and last word of the famous verse, the words with enlarged final letters, Shema – Echad (ShMA – EchD), connect to Moshiach Ben David as will be explained shortly, and the enlarged letters, Ayin and Dalet, spell “witness” as the sages have told us, but they also have the numerical values 70 and 4 respectively.

The significance of this lies in the Zohar’s explanation of the coming of Moshiach and the end of the 4th exile at the end of the 70 years. And 70 years from Israel’s statehood in 1948 is also the end of the 4th exile that began 1948 years earlier in 70 CE with the destruction of the Second Holy Temple, giving us 2018 (5778 HC), the date Rav Yehuda Halevi Ashlag also gave us.  Pay close attention to what the verse says:

Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.

And pay close attention to where the verse is found: (Deuteronomy) Devarim 6:4 because the ordinal value of the name Israel (YShREL) is also 64. The verse is all about Israel.

The Shema is about Israel

We will save the real meaning of the word AD produced by these 2 large letters (Ayin and Dalet) for another article we’re preparing that deals with the final redemption and concentrate instead on the two words themselves today.

The first word is Shema (ShMA), of numerical value 410, the same as the word Kadosh, Holy) and the last word is Echad (EChD) of numerical value 13, the same as the word Ahava (love) and connected to the 13 attributes of G-d. So together we can take them to mean, “Hear One,” as in one voice, or “Hear Love” or “Holy One” or even, “Holy Love.” Nevertheless and regardless of how we take them, they add up together, including the kolel of 1, to 424, the numerical value of Mashiach Ben David, the Messiah.

The Shema Israel comes from the Torah (Devarim 6:4) and all the technology of the Torah is designed to help us bring about Moshiach consciousness and prepare is to receive the Tree-of-Life reality when the window of opportunity (gates) opens in the next few years, which is why it is so important we understand what we are praying and why my teacher wanted me to reveal this now.

But don’t forget that we have to play our part too.  Being aware of the encoded technology is very important, but keeping our thoughts pure and focused on the elevation, on the unification and Oneness with G-d (YHVH), and on the divine and unconditional love is even more important.

The Mystery of the 1000 Generations

Aisha Torah published this excellent devrai Torah, but we wanted to add a couple notes to help clear up this Talmudic mystery, paradox if you will. We bring this matter up, because we are soon to write about the Erev Rav and their ties to the dating of the final redemption, and some have suggestion that the 974 generations mentioned in Mishna of the 1000 mentioned in Psalms are the original Erev Rav (we’ll get into that in another article).

As you’ll see profoundly discussed below and excerpted from Psalms 105:8-10, there are supposed to be 1000 generations (“He commanded to a thousand generations, the covenant which He made with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac. And confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant.” )

There are also supposed 974 generations created before creation, as excerpted from Chagiga 14, “Rabbi Shimon the Pious said: “These are the nine hundred and seventy four generations who pressed themselves forward to be created before the world was created….”

Readers of this blog and The Divine Calendar The Divine Calendarknow that (1000 -974) = 26 and that in all probability these 26 generations are the 26 generations from Adam to Moses when the Torah was revealed, fulfilling the statement above. but this is only a partial answer.

We also know that the Covenant of Abraham was made in 2018 HC, 70 years after his birth in 1948 and that Israel became a nation in 1948 CE, 70 years before the fulfillment of the Zohar’s prophesy on 2018 CE (5778 HC) when Rav Yehuda Halevi Ashlag advised the Tree-of-life reality would be manifest.

So now let’s look at what was hidden in the 974 generations. First off, it is half 1948, or in other words 974 x 2 years = 1948. And as we learned in our recent article on Miketz and the Final Redemption, the Arizal advised us that “2 years (which Joseph spent in prison) was a hidden secret of when the journey to Moshiach would begin and end. He advised in was in 1976 CE, or as we saw, 42 years before 2018, also give by the gematria of 2 years (ShNTYM YMYM).

It’s simple math that reveals  that (1000 + 974 + 2 years) = 1976, and also that (1000 + 974 – 26 years) = 1948, so it would appear there are indeed hidden codes given to us by King David in Psalms and Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai of blessed memory.

Since everything in creation was created in two parts, we see that 974 years is exactly half the period to the birth of Abraham, and also exactly half the period from the destruction of the Second Holy Temple in 70 CE to 2018 CE (1948/2 years).

We know also, as previously discussed that time is not statics and was greatly compressed in first few days before Adam’s creation and in the 2000 years that the Torah existed before Creation, easily accounting for the 974 generations. Nevertheless, lets say we take the paradox literally, and see how many generations there are until 5778 from the birth of Moses (the 26th generation), in order to complete the 1000 generations. As it turns out from 2368 (Moses’ birth) to 5778, there are precisely 974 generations of 3.5 (three and a half) years.

What is this end of days prophecy is this reminiscent of?

So there you have it.  There is no real paradox unless you want to take the Torah, Mishna, Tanakh completely literally and disregard what our sages knew that days, months, years, 1000’s and generations are interchangeable reflections of the same spiritual concept. Once you grasp that, you can begin to grasp the reality of the Tree-of-life where there are no physical limitations or illusions.

Bereishit(Genesis 1:1-6:8)

The First Man

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And a wind from God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light;” and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day. (Genesis 1:1-5)

With these epic words, the Torah, and indeed the world, begins. The beginning is clouded in mystery, perhaps allegory and allusion. The Mishna (Chagiga 11b) dissuades even the sage from attempting to penetrate the unfathomable.1 Nonetheless, there are hints about the dawn and predawn — or perhaps the term should be twilight — of creation in our tradition.2 When commenting on this Mishna, the Talmud makes an obscure reference:

Rabbi Shimon the Pious said: “These are the nine hundred and seventy four generations who pressed themselves forward to be created before the world was created, but were not created. The Holy One, blessed be He, arose and planted them in every generation, and it is they who are the insolent of each generation.” (Chagiga 13b-14a)3

There are those who were created, yet not created, who were “pressed” or contracted, and placed into future generations.4 Rashi explains this passage by presenting a verse in Psalms:5

He has remembered His covenant forever, the word He commanded to a thousand generations, the covenant which He made with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac. And confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant. (Psalms 105:8-10)

A cursory reading of this verse might lead to the understanding that the Torah is of limited scope and efficacy, for the verse speaks of a “mere” thousand generations. Rashi, however, explains that the Torah was given, not for a thousand generations, but to the thousandth generation. One could have simply attributed the term to vernacular usage and metaphor, citing other poetic uses of the “thousand years” or “thousand generations” coin of speech:

“A thousand” is used in a verse in Ecclesiastes describing the futility of man’s aspirations:

And though he live one thousand years twice told, yet has he seen no good; do not all go to one place? All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled. (Ecclesiastes 6:6-7)

While we know that God transcends time, the Psalmist nonetheless utilizes this same “thousand” expression to describe Divine time:

A Prayer of Moses, the man of God: Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, before you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. You turn man back to dust; and say, ‘Turn back, O children of men!’ For a thousand years in your sight are but like yesterday when it is past, and like a watch in the night. (Psalms 90:1-4)

Apparently, Rashi did not want to allow the possibility of a misunderstanding, of the suggestion that the Torah has an expiration date — a “shelf life” of one thousand generations. Therefore, Rashi explains that the verse means the word of God was commanded to the “thousandth generation.”6

Saying that the Torah was given to the thousandth generation does solve the problem of suggesting that the Torah is limited. On the other hand, a separate problem is presented: When one counts the generations in the Torah from Adam until Moses, far less than a thousand are enumerated. In fact, according to tradition, the Torah was given to the 26th generation.7

Rabbi Joshua ben Levi said: “To what do these twenty-six [verses of] ‘Give thanks’ correspond? To the twenty-six generations which the Holy One, blessed be He, created in His world; though He did not give them the Torah, He sustained them by His love.” (P’sachim 118a)

If the Torah was given to the thousandth generation, yet only twenty-six generations are discernible, nine-hundred seventy-four generations are “missing.” This, according to Rashi, is the lesson of the Talmud.

According to this approach, both formulations are true: The Torah was given both to the thousandth generation and to the twenty-sixth generation. The solution lies in those who were “created but not created” before the world came into existence.

While this solution works mathematically, the theological implications seem challenging. The passage from the Talmud offered as an “explanation” is difficult to understand.

These are the nine hundred and seventy four generations who pressed themselves forward to be created before the world was created, but were not created. The Holy One, blessed be He, arose and planted them in every generation, and it is they who are the insolent of each generation. (Chagiga 13b-14a)

Were these people created or not? The entire passage seems paradoxical.
